I have a prayer request for my brother

I have a prayer request for my brother that is in prison. He is troubled and is surrounded by other inmates who fill his head with lies and encourage him to hate other family members of ours that are only trying to love him. These people he is with in prison with seem to represent the devil. I am concerned for his soul. Please pray for him and our family.

Holy God and loving Father, I consciously place my fears, worries, anxieties, and burdens in your hands. I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations. Forgive me for my anxious thoughts and for letting my own worry become an idol that robs you of my full trust. Strengthen and empower me to trust you more by the power and presence of your Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

The best way to change your circumstances around you and to have the people around you do some changing is found in this verse of the Bible, the Word.

Proverbs 4:20-23 (ASV) 
20  My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21  Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thy heart.
22  For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.
23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

You, your flesh, your family will all be affected if "you" will make Jesus and God your main focus in life. Read the Word daily, especially the New Testament. Read it, memorize passages, speak passages aloud, mediate on the Words you have read. Sing praise songs, worship the Lord, And love others around you.  Love them like Jesus does and says to do. When you do these things the people around you, your family, shall change. Keep your focus on Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit.

I’m sorry to learn that your brother is incarcerated. I can understand your concern for him. Sending prayers for him, asking the Lord to draw your brother into a personal relationship with Himself and surround him with His loving presence. If you’re in the US, you may find a ministry called Prison Fellowship helpful. This organization was founded by Mr. Chuck Colson for the purpose of providing emotional and spiritual support for inmates and their families. May you and your family feel God’s love -- shown in the gift of His only Son -- during this Christmas season.
