you have asked a question ,...." how long does it take a prayer to work "'. God can turn the tide in an instant.  However  answers to prayer can take years in the coming as well.. Rest assured though God is working  behind the scenes all the while bringing everything together  for the ultimate benefit of those who seek him diligently and love him . We are told in the scriptures to never give up, in fact we are told by the saviour himself to pray without ceasing.  There used to be an old saying ... "no test , no testimony". You must remain in faith no matter how long it takes. I will pray for you be assured. In Jesus name amen .

God may never give us the outcome we want , but know this, he wants to grant us the desires of our heart, but he will not indulge us to our detriment, He knows what we need, and what is best for us, and those we love, better than we do. So trust in him for the best possible result. Stand in faith, waiting for his perfect timing in all things .
