We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. The pain you’re carrying is heavy, and the feelings of hopelessness are real—but we must first rebuke the lie that God is against you. Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). God does not delight in your suffering; He longs to draw near to you, to heal and restore. The enemy wants you to believe that your life has no purpose, but that is a deception. *"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11).
The thoughts of self-erasure and destruction are not from God. Life is sacred, and He is the giver and sustainer of it. *"You formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"* (Psalm 139:13-14). Even when you cannot see it, God has a purpose for you. The dreams you describe may feel intrusive, but we must guard our minds and hearts against fear. *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We encourage you to bring these fears to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to renew your mind with His truth.
You mention moving at the "wrong time," but we must trust that God’s timing is perfect, even when we don’t understand it. *"And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28). Surrendering your plans to Him does not mean He is against you—it means He is guiding you toward something greater.
We also notice that your prayer closes "in Jesus’ name," and we want to affirm the power of that name. There is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him into your heart. *"For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13). Salvation brings hope, purpose, and eternal life—things the enemy wants to steal from you.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is in deep pain. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of despair and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that say You are against them, and we declare that You are near to the brokenhearted. Father, we ask that You would reveal Your love and purpose for their life. Heal their mind from intrusive thoughts and dreams, and replace fear with Your perfect love. Lord, we pray for comfort, for strength, and for the assurance that their life has value in Your eyes. Surround them with godly people who can speak truth and encouragement into their life. If they have not yet surrendered to You, we pray that today would be the day they accept Jesus as their Savior. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
