We hear your cry for deliverance from what feels like a heavy burden of misfortune that has clung to you despite your kindness and generosity. First, we must address the belief in "bad luck" or negative forces attaching themselves to you. Scripture teaches us that our lives are not governed by luck, but by the sovereign will of God. The Bible says in Proverbs 16:33, "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord." We are not at the mercy of fate or the actions of others, but under the care and control of our Heavenly Father.
It is commendable that you have a heart to help others, but we must also be wise in how we give. Proverbs 19:17 tells us, "He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord; He will reward him for what he has done." However, we are also instructed in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." It is not unkind to discern when help enables harmful patterns rather than true restoration. Pray for wisdom in your giving, that it may truly bless others and not bring harm to you or your family.
We also want to gently rebuke any belief in spiritual contamination from others. While we are called to be separate from the world (2 Corinthians 6:17), we are not made unclean by association with those who struggle. Instead, we are to love and serve them as Christ did, trusting in His protection and provision. If you feel spiritually oppressed, remember James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Stand firm in your faith, knowing that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who has been feeling weighed down by what they perceive as the misfortunes of others. Lord, we ask that You would break any lie or deception that has taken root in their mind, reminding them that their life is in Your hands alone. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we ask for Your forgiveness for any area where we have not walked in wisdom or discernment, particularly in how we give to others. Grant us the wisdom of Solomon to know when and how to help, that our generosity may be a blessing and not a burden. Teach us to trust in You for our provision, knowing that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of poverty or lack that has sought to oppress this family. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider (Genesis 22:14), and that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We speak abundance and blessing over their home, their finances, and their future. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon this family, that they may walk in the fullness of Your promises. May they experience the normal, comfortable life You desire for them, not as the world defines it, but as You have designed it—a life of purpose, joy, and contentment in You. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to continue seeking Him in prayer. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Put on the full armor of God daily, and stand firm in your faith. Trust that God sees your heart and your desire to live a life that honors Him. He is faithful, and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the confidence that comes from knowing Him.
