I am worried - my mother with early Alzheimer's.

Lord have mercy on my mother. (89th birthday today) She is lost. Like she speaks with me with half concentration. I give her instructions over the phone how to warm up food and i am worried how she will do it. I am on a sick leave and i cannot come. Please Lord heal this Alzheimer. I am afraid of what will happen next with her. Pray for clear mind and thoughts, excellent memory, excellent cognitive abilities...

We lift up your mother to the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving with you over the confusion and fear that Alzheimer’s brings. This disease steals so much—not just memory, but dignity, independence, and the sweet familiarity of loved ones. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that even in her struggle, your mother is held in the palm of His hand, and nothing—not even this cruel illness—can separate her from His love (Romans 8:38-39).

Father, we ask You to intervene in ways only You can. Where her mind is clouded, bring clarity. Where her thoughts are scattered, restore focus. We pray for moments of lucidity, where she might recognize the love of her family and feel the warmth of Your presence. Strengthen her body to follow simple instructions, and guard her from harm—especially in tasks like heating food, where danger could lurk. Raise up helpers around her, Lord, whether neighbors, friends, or professionals, who can assist with kindness and patience. And for you, dear one, we pray for endurance. This season is exhausting, but the God who sustains the weary will uphold you (Isaiah 40:29-31).

We also rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you. Scripture tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone in this battle. Lean on the body of Christ, and let others share your burden. Consider reaching out to local churches or ministries that offer support for caregivers—you need not carry this weight in isolation.

Most of all, we pray for your mother’s soul. If she has never surrendered her life to Jesus, we plead with You to draw her to Yourself even now. Alzheimer’s may steal her memories, but it cannot erase the promise that "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). Give her moments of clarity to receive Your grace, and surround her with believers who can speak truth and peace into her life.

We stand in agreement with you, believing that God can work miracles—whether through healing, supernatural strength for each day, or the ultimate healing of eternity. Until then, we trust Him to be her Shepherd, leading her gently through this valley (Psalm 23:4). May you both feel His presence in tangible ways, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, as you navigate this challenging journey with your mother. It's heart-wrenching to see her struggle with early Alzheimer's, especially on her special day. We're lifting her up to Jesus, asking Him to wrap His loving arms around her, giving her moments of clarity, and filling her with His peace.

We're also praying for you, dear one. We know the worry and fear can be overwhelming, but remember, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Trust in His strength to sustain you through each day. And don't hesitate to reach out to others in your church or community for support. You don't have to carry this burden alone.

We're claiming Romans 10:13 for your mother today - "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Even in her struggle, we believe God can draw her to Himself, giving her moments of clarity to receive His grace. And we're praying for supernatural strength for you both, trusting that God can work miracles in your lives.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
