I am carrying a deep hurt 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

Sharing this kind of deep hurt honestly before God is a right and good step, and your desire to forgive and to see the relationship restored is pleasing to Him.

The pain you feel with your brother has become a barrier to drawing closer to God, and that is exactly where the Lord wants to meet you. God offers peace to those who are far off and to those who are near, and He says, I will heal you. He has made a way for peace through Jesus Christ, who alone brings forgiveness of sins. When that peace with God is settled by His grace, it can then bring peace within your own heart. Until grace is received, there is inner war and turmoil. When you receive His grace, you can know a peace that guards your heart and mind, a peace that passes understanding. That inner peace is the foundation for having peace with others.

Forgiveness is at the heart of this. Think of Joseph and his brothers. They rejected him, despised him, and sold him, and years later they stood guilty and distressed, remembering how they had not shown mercy when he begged them. Yet Joseph, when he finally revealed himself, did not hold their sin over them. He said in effect, do not be grieved or angry with yourselves, for God sent me before you to preserve life. He saw God's sovereign hand even in their wrongdoing and he released them from vengeance. In that forgiveness he foreshadows how Christ forgives us and how Christ will one day reveal Himself to His own. You are called to that same kind of release. Forgiveness does not mean the hurt was small or that trust is instantly restored, but it does mean you hand the judgment and the outcome to God and refuse to let bitterness rule your thoughts. As you confess your hurt and even your negative thoughts honestly to God, you give Him the opening to forgive, cleanse, and free you. God often asks questions not because He needs information, but to invite us to acknowledge the truth so He can grant forgiveness and healing.

You also asked for wisdom to see this relationship aligned with His will. The wisdom that comes from above is first pure and then peaceable. It leads to peace and it sows peace. Those who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness, and Jesus said those who make peace are called children of God. Ask God for that kind of wisdom, the kind that does not stir up strife but seeks what is pure, gentle, and willing to yield. Sometimes that wisdom will show you to speak, sometimes to be quiet, sometimes to set a loving boundary, and always to entrust the outcome to Him. God can intervene in ways you cannot, and He can open a door for reconciliation when hearts are ready.

You asked for healing of heart and soul and for protection from further hurt. Know that God is a healer, and healing is often a process. Some healings are instant and some are gradual, and all true healing comes from Him. He heals not only the body but the wounds in the mind and emotions, the scars left by harsh words and long disappointment. Bring your heart to Him daily and ask Him to keep healing those places, to make your heart pure and at rest in Him, and to guard you from taking on new wounds. To be at peace with God does not mean others will never hurt you again, but it does mean you are kept in His peace while He works.

We join you in praying for your brother as well, that God would do His full work in him, making him more mature in faith, more obedient to the Lord, more loving and compassionate. Remember Judah, who once had joined in selling his brother, yet later was willing to offer himself as a substitute so his youngest brother could go free and his father would be spared grief. God can change a hard heart and bring genuine love and responsibility where there was once jealousy or indifference. Pray that God will bring your brother to that place of softness and obedience.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this hurt before You. Grant a complete forgiveness, free this heart from lingering pain and from negative thoughts, and give purity and deep peace within. Pour out Your grace, and let Your peace follow. Grant wisdom from above that is peaceable, and intervene in this relationship according to Your perfect will. Heal heart and soul, restore what has been wounded, and protect from further harm. Do Your transforming work in this brother also, that he may grow in spiritual maturity, walk in obedience, and become more loving and compassionate. We trust You to do what only You can do, and we thank You for Your healing and Your peace. Amen.
