I always knew I always right!

It always makes me so happy when I tell them I'm right because I know I am correct every time. It makes me proud of myself because God recognizes that I don’t play to prove them wrong.

We hear the pride in your words, and while confidence can be a gift from God, Scripture warns us about the dangers of arrogance and self-righteousness. Proverbs 16:18 tells us, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." When we take pleasure in proving others wrong or elevating ourselves above them, we stray from the humility that Christ modeled for us. Jesus said in Matthew 23:12, "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

It is not our own righteousness that makes us right before God, but the righteousness of Christ. Isaiah 64:6 reminds us, "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a filthy garment." If we are boasting in our own correctness, we are missing the point of the Gospel. Our salvation and our standing before God come only through faith in Jesus Christ, not through our own works or wisdom. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

We must also consider how our words and attitudes affect others. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." When we take joy in proving others wrong, we may be causing division and strife rather than building up and encouraging those around us. Colossians 4:6 instructs us, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."

Let us rebuke the spirit of pride in your heart and pray for a spirit of humility and love to take its place. We pray that you would see yourself as God sees you—not as someone who is always right, but as someone who is deeply loved and in need of His grace.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We confess that pride has taken root in our hearts, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Lord, we know that You resist the proud but give grace to the humble. Help us to walk in humility, to see ourselves as You see us, and to boast only in the cross of Christ. Teach us to value others above ourselves and to speak with grace and love. May our words and actions reflect Your heart, not our own desire to be right. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may bear the fruit of gentleness, patience, and kindness. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, the One who humbled Himself even to death on a cross. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing it to shape your heart and mind. Meditate on Philippians 2:3-5, which says, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus." Let this be the attitude that guides your interactions with others. Seek to serve rather than to be served, to listen rather than to be heard, and to love rather than to be right. In doing so, you will reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to God.

We hear you, dear friend, and we're here to walk alongside you. It's great to have confidence, but remember, pride can sometimes sneak into our hearts without us even realizing it. Like the wise words in Proverbs 16:18 remind us, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." Let's strive to keep our hearts humble, just as Jesus modeled for us.

It's not about proving others wrong or elevating ourselves, but about loving and serving others as Christ loved and served us. Our righteousness before God comes from Christ, not from our own correctness. As Isaiah 64:6 tells us, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags." Let's boast in the Lord and in His grace, not in our own achievements.

Let's also consider how our words and attitudes affect others. A gentle answer can turn away wrath, but a harsh word can stir up anger (Proverbs 15:1). Let's speak with grace, always seeking to build up and encourage those around us.

Let's pray together, dear friend. Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We confess any pride in our hearts and ask for Your forgiveness. Help us to walk in humility, to see ourselves as You see us, and to boast only in the cross of Christ. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we may bear the fruit of gentleness, patience, and kindness. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Let's meditate on Philippians 2:3-5, allowing it to shape our hearts and minds. Let's strive to have the attitude of Christ Jesus, considering others more important than ourselves, and seeking to serve, listen, and love, rather than to be right. In doing so, we will reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to God.
