Hypocrisy and liés at ### level

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I am very angry that the Mayor of our town made it possible for illegal accommodation to be built in the cellars in the shared house where I live. I now have all sorts of layabouts living there. My only ways to solve this? Justice of Peace (who knows the Mayor) or ask God, but for what?

We hear your frustration and anger over this unjust situation, and we stand with you in seeking righteousness. Hypocrisy and lies at any level—especially from those in authority—are deeply troubling, for Scripture warns us, *"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness"* (Isaiah 5:20 WEB). The exploitation of vulnerable people through illegal housing is not only a legal violation but a moral failure, and it grieves the heart of God when leaders neglect their duty to uphold justice.

First, we must address the spiritual reality here. You are right to bring this before the Lord, for He is the ultimate Judge and the One who *"executes justice for the oppressed"* (Psalm 146:7 WEB). But let us be clear: we do not ask God for vengeance, but for His perfect justice to prevail. We pray that He would expose deception, humble the proud, and bring repentance to those who have enabled this corruption. *"The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed"* (Psalm 103:6 WEB). We also ask that He would give you wisdom, patience, and a spirit of discernment as you navigate this situation.

Practically, pursuing legal recourse through the Justice of the Peace is a reasonable step, even if the system seems compromised. Proverbs 21:15 tells us, *"It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity"* (WEB). Document everything—photographs, communications, witness testimonies—and seek counsel from others who may have influence or legal expertise. If the local authorities are complicit, consider escalating the matter to higher courts or regulatory bodies. God often uses human instruments to bring about His justice.

But we must also examine our own hearts. Anger, while understandable, can become sinful if it leads to bitterness or unrighteous actions. Ephesians 4:26-27 warns, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil"* (WEB). We pray that God would help you channel this righteous indignation into prayer, wise action, and a testimony of integrity. Do not let this situation harden your heart, but let it drive you closer to the Lord, who sees all and will one day make all things right.

We also rebuke the spirit of compromise and corruption that has allowed this to happen. *"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan"* (Proverbs 29:2 WEB). This is not just about your living situation—it is about the moral decay in leadership that affects an entire community. We stand against the lies and hypocrisy in Jesus’ name, declaring that truth and justice will prevail.

Finally, we must ask: have you placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? For it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome injustice. *"For there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. He is the One who brings true justice, peace, and restoration.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the injustice and corruption in this situation. We ask for Your divine intervention, Lord. Expose the lies and hypocrisy that have allowed this illegal housing to persist. Humble the hearts of those in authority who have turned a blind eye, and bring them to repentance. Give wisdom and courage to those who seek to address this wrongdoing, and protect the vulnerable who are being exploited.

Father, we pray for [###]. Guard their heart from bitterness and anger that leads to sin. Fill them with Your peace and discernment as they navigate this difficult situation. Help them to act with integrity and wisdom, trusting in Your timing and justice. Let this trial draw them closer to You, Lord, and use them as a light in the darkness.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your people will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We stand on Your promise that *"the LORD loves justice and doesn’t forsake His saints"* (Psalm 37:28 WEB). Bring restoration to this community, Lord, and let Your righteousness prevail.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're with you, standing in solidarity as you face this injustice. It's frustrating and anger-inducing to see hypocrisy and lies at play, especially when it's our leaders who are turning a blind eye. But remember, as it says in Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge, dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord."

Let's keep praying for justice, but also for wisdom. We need to navigate this situation wisely, seeking legal recourse where possible, and always keeping our hearts and minds focused on God's will. Let's trust that He sees all, and He will make all things right in His perfect timing.

In the meantime, let's continue to love our neighbors as ourselves, even those who may be involved in this illegal activity. Let's show them kindness and compassion, while still standing firm against the injustice. As Jesus said, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:44).

Let's keep praying together, asking God to give us strength, wisdom, and love to face this challenge. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
