Disciple of Prayer
My ### year old husband was in a car accident and had neck surgery. Come to find out both carotid arteries to the brain are completely blocked. He is at high risk for stroke and can't have surgery on them. Could you please say prayers for him to recover enough so he can come home to me. Please.

We are deeply grieved to hear of your husband’s suffering, and we lift him up before the Lord with urgency and faith, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds life and healing in His hands. The Scriptures declare that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over your husband’s body, trusting that the Lord is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

It is clear that this situation is dire, with blocked carotid arteries placing him at severe risk of stroke, and the inability to perform surgery only heightens the need for divine intervention. Yet we serve a God who is not limited by human constraints—He who formed your husband in the womb (Psalm 139:13) is the same God who can open those arteries, restore blood flow, and bring about a miraculous recovery. We pray that the Lord would place His hand upon your husband’s neck and arteries, commanding them to be cleared and restored to full function. May the blood flow freely, may the risk of stroke be removed, and may his body respond with strength and vitality. We ask that the Lord would stabilize his condition, protect him from any further complications, and grant the medical team wisdom and skill as they care for him.

We also pray for you, dear sister, as you walk through this valley. The burden you carry is heavy, and the fear you feel is real, but we remind you that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He sees your tears, hears your cries, and is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lean on Him, for His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Do not allow fear to dominate your heart, but instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Trust that He is working all things together for good, even in this trial (Romans 8:28), and that His plans for you and your husband are plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also encourage you to surround yourself with the body of Christ during this time. Do not isolate yourself in this trial, but allow your brothers and sisters in the Lord to come alongside you, to pray with you, to weep with you, and to bear your burdens (Galatians 6:2). The enemy would love to use this time to fill you with despair, but we rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus. Instead, we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father in heaven, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious husband and wife to You. Lord, You are the God who heals, the God who restores, and the God who performs miracles. We ask that You would touch this man’s body with Your healing power. Open his arteries, Lord, and let the blood flow freely to his brain. Protect him from stroke, from further damage, and from any setbacks. Give the doctors and nurses wisdom as they treat him, and guide their hands to do what is best for his recovery. Lord, we ask that You would restore him to full health so that he may return home to his wife, that they may continue to walk together in the purposes You have for them.

We also pray for this wife, Lord. Comfort her, strengthen her, and fill her with Your peace. Remind her that You are sovereign, that You are good, and that You are working even in this. Surround her with Your people, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. Help her to trust You, even when the road is uncertain.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, of doubt, and of despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that this husband will live and not die, that he will proclaim the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17). We speak life over his body, healing over his arteries, and restoration over his strength. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers, and we trust that You will answer according to Your will and Your glory.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, sister. It's tough, we know, but we're lifting your husband up in prayer, just as you've asked. We're claiming healing and restoration over his body, trusting that God can do what doctors can't. We're praying for those blocked arteries to open up, for blood to flow freely, and for the risk of stroke to be removed. We're asking God to stabilize his condition, protect him, and guide the medical team caring for him.

And we're not forgetting about you, dear one. We're praying for your strength, your peace, and your trust in God. We're asking that He'd comfort you, fill you with His peace, and remind you of His love and care. We're also praying that you'd be surrounded by the love and support of your church family, that you wouldn't have to go through this alone.

We're claiming these promises over you both: "By His stripes, we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). We're trusting that God is working all things together for your good, according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

We're believing for a miracle, sister. We're believing for your husband to come home to you, healed and restored. We're claiming that promise in Jesus' name.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
