How/why Do Prayers Get Answered?

Psalm 66:18 If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn't have listened.

Proverbs 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry

Proverbs 1:25-26 Since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you. when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

Proverbs 21:13 Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

It's important to note that believers are considered blameless to God (Ephesians 1:4 "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love" and again I Corinthians 1:8 "He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.") Although this verse is addressing believers: James 4:3 You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. Yet God wants us to ask for what we want, so how does this collaborate? Because we know that no part of the Bible contradicts itself. The answer is, that God wants our will to be the same as His, that is good. The more of the Word of God we know, the better we are experts in what it means to be good. Romans 16:19 "For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil."

Also consider Revelation 3:19 "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent." This goes along with what Jesus said in Matthew 7:"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you" Matthew 6:7 "When you pray, don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again." but with all sincerity make your request be made known to God. But again at this point there may be uncertainty whether believers are considered blameless on the old earth (here), or once we are tried with fire by the Holy Spirit and every good work in us is perfected. We know however that we are still growing according to Colossians 2:7 "...Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught..." And we may be strong or weak according to Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." God's grace covers over our sins completely as believers, so we are treated as royalty as long as we own our faith, as long as we act like we're royalty, as long as we trust that God is good and He is for us. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 John 5:4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

My conclusion is this, you activate your faith by trusting God at His word, by believing it beyond your current circumstances, through prayer trusting God that it will come to pass.
Mark 11:24 Jesus: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

If you came here because your prayers aren't being answered, these are reasons why prayers aren't answered. 1. sin 2. unforgiveness 3. lack of persistence zeal 4. doubt 5. wrong motives 6. not praying according to God's will 7. not listening to godly counsel For more on this go to: http://www.lovesark.net/prayer/unansweredprayer.html

(In other words when our own foolishness is the reason for our downfall. Also we never have room to blame God) so i have been a really bad and rotten person in my life to thepoint where it has gotten my children attacked . does this mean that since iwas in sin he is laughing at m because i would not listen ? if so will he ever forgive me enough to help /save my children ?

After studying I have added much more to this post, I think it will be very useful to read that, but to answer you directly... This is competely dependent on whether you trust God to forgive you of your sin. You must have forgiven everyone in your life to be saved. Matthew 16:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." And for your faith not to be dead it must show good works like that of a sheep that follows the voice of it's shepard, who is Jesus. Matthew 25:31-46 (the parable of the sheep and goats) it tells what true repentence and salvation looks like.

I know for sure we are in the dispensation ( the time period that God begins his promise to the end of His promise for us) we are in the dispensation of Grace...He doesn't even see your sins any longer as soon as you accept Him and walk in obedience to His word and way...there is a price you must pay and that's your life...to walk in the fullness of His truth to a place of Freedom and Peace...not only do you fight for yourself to bring knowledge and wisdom with right choices to your life...your fighting for your children and theirs and theirs..it's generational curses we bind and break by our obedience to God. He has a Plan a perfect plan and it's laid before you...it can have good bad and all in between...we ALL fall short...even "christians" who think they don't...we are like filthy rags...we just have to walk in obedience ...guided by His grace and mercy...we need to bleach them up make them white as snow...God died for you...that shows His love..reach out and touch the One and only God above all gods...and his name is Jesus....you are forgiven...what we do know also is...when God laughs...its not funny!

This isn't entirely a "request" per se, and I don't mean to promote anything, but ### has a song called "Before the Morning", and the comments on YouTube say that the song is based on Romans 8:18. His song inspired me and I looked up the verse and I've come to love this verse, and the whole...
