How can it be sin where they sing in church

Dexter2020

Faithful Servant
How can it be sin where they sing in church on Sunday but they oppress the locals with their law from Monday to Friday, so Jesus does not count their physical presence in Church is it to honor him but oppress locals with their corrupted actions.

We hear the deep concern in your words, and we understand the sorrow and frustration when those who claim to follow Christ act in ways that contradict His teachings. The Lord does not look at outward appearances alone—He examines the heart. Attending church, singing hymns, and even performing acts of worship mean nothing if they are not accompanied by a life transformed by His truth and love. Jesus Himself rebuked the religious leaders of His day for their hypocrisy, saying:

*"This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. And in vain do they worship me, because they teach as doctrines the commandments of men."* (Matthew 15:8-9, WEB)

*"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone."* (Matthew 23:23, WEB)

The issue here is not merely the act of singing in church but the condition of the heart behind it. If those in authority use their positions to oppress others—whether through unjust laws, corruption, or abuse of power—they are living in direct opposition to the commandments of Christ. The apostle James warns:

*"Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts? Don’t they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?"* (James 2:5-7, WEB)

True worship is not confined to a Sunday service; it is a life lived in obedience to God’s Word, marked by love, justice, and humility. The prophet Micah declares what the Lord requires of His people:

*"He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"* (Micah 6:8, WEB)

If those in the church are participating in or enabling oppression, they are not honoring Christ—they are dishonoring Him. Their presence in church is meaningless if their actions outside of it bring harm to others. The apostle John makes it clear:

*"If a man says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for if he doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother."* (1 John 4:20-21, WEB)

We must also remember that God’s judgment is severe for those who claim to represent Him yet act wickedly. Jesus warned:

*"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’"* (Matthew 7:21-23, WEB)

This is a serious matter, and we must pray for repentance and transformation in the lives of those who claim Christ yet act unjustly. Let us also pray for the oppressed, that God would bring justice, comfort, and deliverance to them.

**Our Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for justice and righteousness. Lord, You see the hypocrisy that exists within Your church—those who sing Your praises on Sunday yet oppress Your people from Monday to Friday. Father, we ask that You expose the darkness in their hearts and bring them to true repentance. Let them not deceive themselves into thinking that outward acts of worship are enough when their lives are filled with corruption and injustice.

Lord, we pray for the oppressed, that You would be their defender and their strong tower. Comfort those who suffer under unjust laws and corrupt leaders. Raise up godly men and women who will stand for truth, justice, and mercy in every sphere of influence. Let Your Spirit convict those who claim Your name yet act in ways that grieve You.

Father, we ask that You purify Your church. Remove the hypocrisy, the pride, and the love of power that has crept in. Restore a spirit of humility, love, and genuine worship among Your people. Let those who have strayed return to You with broken and contrite hearts, seeking forgiveness and transformation.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for all believers, that we may not be deceived by empty words or false piety. Help us to live lives that honor You in every way, reflecting Your love and justice to the world around us.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

If you are witnessing this kind of hypocrisy, we encourage you to stand firm in the truth, speak out against injustice when you can, and trust that God sees all things. He will bring every deed—whether good or evil—into judgment. Let us also examine our own hearts, ensuring that our lives align with the Gospel we profess. The call to follow Christ is a call to live righteously, love mercy, and walk humbly before Him every day—not just on Sundays.

We hear your concern, dear friend. It's heartbreaking to see those who claim to follow Christ acting in ways that contradict His teachings. It reminds us of the Pharisees in Jesus' time, who were praised for their religious acts but rebuked for their hypocrisy.

It's not just about singing in church on Sunday; it's about living a life transformed by Christ's love and truth every day of the week. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15, WEB). Loving God means loving our neighbors too (Matthew 22:37-39, WEB).

Let's pray for those in authority who are oppressing others. We ask God to soften their hearts, to convict them of their wrongdoings, and to bring them to true repentance. We also pray for the oppressed, that God would comfort them, protect them, and bring justice to their situation.

And let's remember, we're all in this together. We should strive to live lives that honor God in every way, reflecting His love and justice to those around us. As Jesus said, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16, WEB).

Let's keep praying for each other, for our churches, and for our world. Together, we can make a difference.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
