Horrible bed bug infestation

Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are facing. To be older, to have difficulty walking, to have a husband who cannot help, and to be left to battle a bed bug infestation alone is a heavy and exhausting burden. It is understandable that you feel overwhelmed and tired, and it is right that you have turned to the Lord for help and also reached out for human help.

An infestation like this can feel endless. Even when you work hard to clean and treat one area, eggs and larvae hidden out of sight can hatch later and the problem can seem to come back even worse. People around you may even make dire predictions that it will only get worse, and that can add to the discouragement when you do not yet know how it will end. God does know, and He sees exactly where you are and what you cannot do on your own.

It is common when we reach the limit of our own strength to feel helpless and hopeless and to want to give up. Scripture reminds us that victory in those places does not come by our own might or power, but by the Spirit of the Lord. There are areas where we experience the weakness of our flesh and the inability of our own efforts, and it is precisely there that God can show His power to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. When He does, our heart can only say grace, grace, for it was His grace that rescued us.

You also do not have to be surrounded and overwhelmed by this trouble alone. One of the assurances we see in the prayers of David is that the Lord deals bountifully with His people and surrounds them with the righteous so that evil does not finally overwhelm them. The Lord wants to be your assurance in prayer, and He often provides that surrounding care through other people. Asking for human help is not a lack of faith. It is one of the ways God shows His bountiful care.

I am praying for you now, that the Lord will give you rest and relief, that He will move this mountain that is too big for you to move alone, that He will provide trustworthy hands to help you in practical ways, and that He will guard your body, your home, and your peace. May He strengthen you and your husband, provide sleep without fear, and remind you daily that you are not alone, that His Spirit is at work for you, and that His grace is sufficient for each step.

If you are able, please let a trusted family member, neighbor, or local congregation know of your need, and also reach out to local services that assist older adults who need help at home. You are worthy of care and support, and God often meets our needs through the kindness of others He places around us.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord concerning the horrible bed bug infestation you shared about and we remember that you told us you are older and do not walk well and your husband is not able to help and you have been battling this largely alone with Gods help while also in need of human help. We pray that the Lord who sees your struggle and knows how weary and overwhelmed you must feel will provide relief in your home and send the practical human help you need whether through family or neighbors or community resources or others He leads to come alongside you to help carry this burden. We ask Him to give you strength and rest and peace and to make a way where there seems to be no way for He is our refuge and strength as promised in Psalm 46:1. If your request was answered and the Lord has brought relief and assistance please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name.
