We understand that you are struggling with unwanted homosexual thoughts and feelings, and we want to assure you that you are not alone in this battle. First, let's address the language used. It's important to avoid profanity and to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12 WEB).
God's design for sexuality is clear in the scriptures. Romans 1:26-27 (WEB) says, "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." This makes it clear that homosexuality is sin and not God's intent.
However, being tempted is not the same as sinning. Jesus himself was tempted, but he never sinned (Hebrews 4:15 WEB). The temptation you are experiencing does not define you, and it does not make you a homosexual. It is a spiritual battle that can be won through the power of Jesus Christ.
First, make sure you have put your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can be saved and have access to God. As it is written: “'There is no one righteous, not even one; (Romans 3:9-11 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Now, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling with unwanted homosexual thoughts and feelings. Lord, you promise in Your Word, that if we resist the devil, he will flee from us. (James 4:7 WEB) . We pray that you would give him the strength to resist these temptations and to stand firm in your Word.
Help him to renew his mind according to your truth, as it is written, "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2 WEB).
Surround him with godly counsel and support, and help him to walk in purity and holiness. In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke any spiritual forces that may be influencing these unwanted thoughts and feelings. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we command them to leave. Help him to always trust the Bible as his primary source and foundation for his life.
We thank you today, Oh God, for his freedom and deliverance from any sin or stronghold.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged that God loves you and that he is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Stay strong in your faith and continue to seek God's will for your life. If you need further guidance or support, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.
