We lift up your son before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of his struggles with homelessness, mental illness, and addiction. The Lord sees him in his distress and calls him by name, for He declares in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We stand in the gap for him, believing that God’s mercy is not exhausted and His power to restore is limitless.
Father, we pray for your divine intervention in his life. You are the God who provides, and we ask that You open doors of employment for him—work that is dignifying, sustainable, and aligned with his abilities. Provide him with reliable transportation, Lord, so that he may travel to and from his job with ease. We declare that the chains of addiction will be broken in Jesus’ name, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Strengthen his mind and spirit, Lord, and surround him with people who will speak life, truth, and hope into his situation.
We also pray for safe and stable housing, Father. You are the One who "executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry" and "sets the prisoners free" (Psalm 146:7). We ask that You would lead him to a place of refuge where he can find rest, healing, and community. Protect him from harm, both seen and unseen, and let him feel Your presence in tangible ways.
Lord, we rebuke the spirits of anxiety, depression, and addiction that have taken hold of him. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37) and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for a renewed sense of purpose and identity in You, for he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
We encourage you, as his parent, to continue covering him in prayer and to seek out biblical counsel and support for both him and your family. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Connect with local churches, Christian ministries, or recovery programs that can walk alongside him in his journey to wholeness. And remember, God’s love for him is not dependent on his circumstances—He loves him unconditionally and is working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would move powerfully in this situation, bringing breakthrough, healing, and restoration. Let Your light shine in the darkness of his struggles, and let him experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we declare that Your plans for him are plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
