We understand the deep fear and distress you must be feeling as you face the possibility of losing your home and the burden of debt. It is a heavy weight to carry, but we want to remind you that our Heavenly Father knows your needs and cares deeply for you. He is the Provider, the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. Yet, we must also remember that His ways are not our ways, and His timing is perfect—even when we cannot see the path ahead.
First, we must address something vital: your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of God with confidence. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is not found in wealth, security, or earthly comforts, but in Him alone. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without this foundation, all other prayers lack the power and authority that come through Christ.
Now, let us turn to your situation. The Bible is clear that we are not to live in fear, for fear is not of God. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Your fear of homelessness is understandable, but we encourage you to cast this fear upon the Lord, trusting that He will sustain you. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB).
Debt is a burden that can feel overwhelming, but the Bible also gives us wisdom on how to handle it. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While this may feel like a harsh reality, it also reminds us that God calls us to live within our means and to seek His wisdom in managing our resources. Have you sought counsel from your church or trusted believers who can help you create a plan to address your debt? Sometimes, God provides through the practical steps we take in faith. We encourage you to seek godly wisdom and to be diligent in stewarding what He has given you, no matter how small it may seem.
We also want to remind you that your home—though important—is not your ultimate security. Your true home is with Christ, and He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even if the worst were to happen and you lost your home, God would still be with you, and He would still be working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). This does not mean we do not pray for your home to be saved—we absolutely do! But we also pray that your heart would be rooted in the unshakable truth that God is your refuge and strength, no matter your circumstances.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is burdened by debt and the fear of losing their home. Lord, You know their needs before they even ask, and You are the God who provides. We ask that You would open doors of provision that no man can shut. Give them wisdom, Lord, to manage their resources in a way that honors You. If there are steps they need to take—seeking counsel, creating a budget, or reaching out for help—guide them clearly and give them the courage to act in faith.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of their heart. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their ever-present Help in trouble. If it is Your will, Lord, preserve their home and deliver them from this debt. But even if the path ahead is difficult, help them to trust You completely, knowing that You are working all things for their good and Your glory.
We pray that they would draw near to You in this time of need, seeking Your face above all else. If they do not yet know You as their Savior, Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Open their eyes to see that Jesus is the only way to true security—both in this life and for eternity.
Strengthen them, Lord, and surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, and let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to meditate on God’s promises during this time. Psalm 37:25 says, *"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."* Cling to this truth. Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and trust that He will add what you need (Matthew 6:33). Stay in prayer, stay in His Word, and do not isolate yourself—reach out to your brothers and sisters in Christ for support. You are not alone in this. God is with you, and He will never leave you.
