We look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than to all we see and hear from the noise and pollution of the world, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. We agree, Matt 18:19, with this husband for himself, his wayward wife, children, family, extended family, ***prayer & ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members -- You speak to us by any and every ordinary and extraordinary means: give warning dreams, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham you warned Abimelech to keep him from death, Gen 20:3. Like Abraham, we are imperfect but growing, and we believe Your promises, in fact we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21, granting us everything we need for both life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3-4. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on these named above, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things and no purpose of Yours can be thwarted,"Job 42:2 We agree with John, that light is stronger than darkness and not able to overcome it, John 1:5. We agree that "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. Keep her, him, us and our churches, families, friends, pastors and government leaders from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. With thanksgiving we let our requests be made known and claim Your incomprehensible peace as promised, Phil 4:6-7. We thank You in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name, The Amen, and Faithful Witness, Rev 3:14, in Jesus ALL Your promises are Yes, and therefore we say, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20...

We join together with you in this earnest cry for the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and speak to us, and we agree with you as a husband standing for his marriage, his wayward wife, his children, family, extended family, prayer and ministry partners, church leaders and churches.

We hear your heart to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you, and we affirm that this is the first and most sure way God speaks to us. Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path Psalm 119:105, and All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Tim 3:16-17. We agree that we must speak according to the law and the testimony Isaiah 8:20, and that any dream, vision, prophecy, counsel, sign or leading must be tested against that written Word, for we are told to test the spirits, whether they are of God 1 John 4:1 and to test all things, and hold firmly that which is good 1 Thess 5:21.

We do believe with you that God is sovereign and can speak in many ways. For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction Job 33:14-16, and we remember how He warned Abimelech in a dream Genesis 20:3, and Joseph Matthew 1:20 and the wise men Matthew 2:12. And it will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions Joel 2:28, which was poured out at Pentecost Acts 2:17. Yet we also remember that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth John 16:13 and that As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God Rom 8:14 and My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10:27. That leading will never contradict Scripture and will always exalt Christ, for the Spirit does not draw attention to Himself but to Jesus.

We also gently caution in love that while God set lights in the heavens for signs and seasons Genesis 1:14 and used a star to lead the wise men Matthew 2:2, we are not to seek signs as the world does or be led astray by every wind of experience. We do not chase signs in the heavens or mystical experiences, but we seek the Shepherd Himself, abiding in His love as you prayed John 15:10, and letting the peace of God guard our hearts Phil 4:7.

Concerning your marriage, we stand with you for the sanctity and permanence of marriage as God ordained it between one man and one woman for life. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9, and we know the Lord hates divorce and unfaithfulness Mal 2:16. If your wife has become wayward, whether through unfaithfulness, rebellion, or deception, we must call that what Scripture calls it, sin that needs repentance. Adultery and fornication and abandonment of the marriage covenant are not to be excused or redefined, but to be repented of and forsaken. We pray she will be turned from wrongdoing and kept from pride, to preserve her from the pit Job 33:17-18, and that God will grant her godly sorrow that leads to repentance 2 Cor 7:10.

We exhort you as a husband to continue to love your wife, even in her waywardness, as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it Eph 5:25, not enabling sin but remaining faithful, prayerful, pure in heart and blameless in conscience as you asked from 1 Tim 1:5, and seeking wise counsel, for where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory Prov 11:14.

So we pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have access to You, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, we come as little children and we thank You that Jesus lives to make intercession for us Heb 7:25 and at Your right hand to intercede for us Rom 8:34. We ask You to pour out Your Spirit upon this husband, his wife, their children, and all their household and ministry partners. Open their eyes, unstop their ears, soften hard hearts. Cause Your Word to dwell richly in them. Give this husband endurance, hope, and love from a pure heart and sincere faith. Convict this dear wife wherever she has sinned, grant her a holy terror of the pit and a clear vision of Your mercy, that she would turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God Acts 26:18, and return to You and to her covenant marriage. Protect the children from confusion, lies and the evil one John 17:15. Keep us all from temptation, deception and evil Matt 6:13, deliver us from evil men and seducing spirits 2 Thess 3:2-3. If it pleases You, speak to her and to us in dreams and visions that are clearly from You and perfectly aligned with Your Word, to turn us from wrongdoing and preserve us, but above all make us able to perceive Your voice in Scripture, through faithful preaching, godly counsel and the quiet leading of Your Spirit. We believe You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think Eph 3:20, that nothing is impossible with God Luke 1:37, and that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever Heb 13:8. Let Your will be done in this family as it is in heaven, for Your glory and for the restoration of this marriage. We ask and we thank You in advance believing that we receive Mark 11:24, in the name of Jesus, the Amen and Faithful Witness Rev 3:14, in whom all Your promises are Yes and Amen 2 Cor 1:20.

We hear your hunger to stay close to Jesus and to be attentive to His voice in the middle of so much noise. That desire to abide in Him, to let His Word shape you, and to welcome His leading through preaching, godly counsel, and the quiet work of the Spirit is a humble and good place to be.

We join you in asking the Lord to keep you and your family, your ministry partners and church leaders, near to Him and sensitive to His direction. One thing that has helped many of us is to hold what we sense we are hearing up to what we know of His character in Scripture and to test it with a couple of trusted, mature believers who know you well. The Spirit is both gentle and truthful, and He loves to form His character in us as much as to guide us, and that balance can keep us from chasing every impression on one hand or missing His quiet direction on the other.

It helps to keep a simple rhythm of time in the Word, unhurried prayer, and then bringing any strong impression or dream to the Lord and to wise counsel before acting, giving time for peace and confirmation to grow.

Father, we bring this husband, his wife and children, and all those named to You. Draw each one closer to Jesus, keep them rooted in Your Word and Your love, guard them from confusion and the enemy's schemes, and give clear and gentle guidance for the next step You have for them. We trust You to lead faithfully. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We have heard your cry and we join with you in it, for the desire to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you is itself a work of the Holy Spirit. You ask well when you ask to be kept in His love and to have His Word as a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path, and to speak and to judge all things according to the Law and the Testimony.

Know this, that the Holy Spirit is a tender and holy Guest. The little narrow heart of man He has made His palace, though it be but a cottage and unclean, yet He condescends to make the heart of His people His continual abode. Therefore we must take heed that we grieve not the Holy Spirit, for He is grieved by our unbelief and by unholiness of life when we walk not according to the Gospel. He is not a mere influence to be used at our pleasure, He is a Person to be worshipped and obeyed, and His great work is to glorify Christ. He will receive of Mine, says Jesus, and shall show it unto you. Whatever is truly of the Holy Spirit will magnify Christ and not outward rites or curious trifles, and will lead a soul to love Christ more and to trust in Him alone for salvation. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and Jesus lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him.

You seek that the Spirit would speak to you by every ordinary and extraordinary means. We exhort you to seek Him first in the sure Word of God, and in faithful messages from the pulpit, and in godly counsel, for in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. The Holy Spirit says, Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. He is willing to help you to pray, to teach you how to pray, and to pray in you and through you, for acceptable prayer must be in the Holy Spirit and by His power. Without Him there is no life nor force nor power. Cry mightily unto God for Him, and depend upon Him alone, and burn all confidence in the mere strength of nature and strong resolutions.

We do not forbid God to speak as He wills, for He did give dreams to Joseph and to the wise men and warnings in the night to others, and His arm is not shortened that it cannot save. Yet we must test every vision and dream and sign by the Word, lest we be led astray by the noise and pollution of the world or by our own hearts. The Holy Spirit never leads contrary to the Scriptures which He inspired, and He alone can teach you and make the Word effectual.

Therefore we bow together and pray for you, for this husband who intercedes, for his wayward wife, for their children and household, for extended family, for prayer and ministry partners, for church leaders and churches and team members. Father, in the name of Jesus who is the Amen and faithful witness, pour out Thy Spirit upon these souls. Turn the wayward from wrongdoing and keep from pride, preserve from the pit, and grant repentance and faith that is sealed by the impress of the Holy Spirit. Let the wife and husband and children hear Thy voice today and harden not their hearts. Restore what is broken according to Thy covenant of marriage, which is the lifelong union of one man and one woman, and keep all from temptation and sin and deception and the evil one. Cause love to abound from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Let Christ be glorified in every home and pulpit, and let Thy peace which passeth understanding guard hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. We ask this not for our worthiness but for His merits who died and rose again and ever liveth to intercede. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your prayer and we join you in seeking the Lord with a sincere heart, a pure conscience and faith that looks to Christ alone for salvation. We thank God that Jesus lives to make intercession for us and that all who come to God through Him are saved completely, as Hebrews 7:25 teaches, and that His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.

Your longing to hear the Shepherd's voice and to abide in Christ and have His words abide in you is right and good. Scripture teaches that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, and that the Spirit bears witness with our spirit through the gift He has given, teaching us to pray and to live according to the Law and the Testimony. Isaiah 8:20 reminds us to speak according to that standard, and Psalm 119:105 shows that God guides us most clearly and surely through His written Word. While God is sovereign and can work as He wills, like the wind that blows where it wishes, we are not to chase dreams, visions, or signs as our foundation, but to test everything by Scripture, to seek wise and godly counsel as Proverbs 11:14 says, and to remain faithful in the ordinary means of grace, prayer, the preaching of the Word, and fellowship with the church.

We also hear your burden for this husband, his wife who has wandered, their children and family, and for ministry partners and church leaders. Marriage is honorable and pure, given by God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and its good is to preserve holiness and to keep the body pure from fornication and adultery. Where there has been unfaithfulness or wandering, the call of God is not to bless what is outside His design, but to call all to repentance, to chastity, and to orderly living in marriage, whether in remaining pure before marriage or in faithfulness within it. This holiness comes from faith in Christ and is guarded by walking closely with Him.

Therefore we pray with you:

Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that You draw each one named to Yourself through Christ alone. Cause Your Word to dwell richly in them and to bear fruit. Grant to the husband endurance and hope, to the wife repentance and renewal, to the children and extended family protection and faith, and to pastors and leaders wisdom and holiness. Keep them all from temptation, from deception, from the evil one, and from every form of sexual sin and pride, and preserve them from the pit. Give them peace that passes understanding as they make their requests known to You, and help them to follow peace with all and to pursue holiness. Lead them not into trial beyond what they can bear, but provide the way of escape, and make them steadfast after baptism to endure temptation nobly, looking to Christ who was tempted and overcame. We ask that You do what is according to Your will and Your promises, for nothing is impossible with You, and that You would restore what is broken in a way that honors Your covenant design for marriage. We thank You that You are able to do all things and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.

We encourage you to continue abiding in Christ, in His love and in His Word, in prayer and in the fellowship of a faithful local church, seeking counsel there and walking step by step in obedience. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in those who trust Him.

Thank you for sharing this burden and for the hunger you express to hear from God and to walk closely with Him. Your desire to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you, to abide in His love, and to have His Word as a lamp to your feet and a light to your path is exactly where the Holy Spirit wants to lead you, and it is the safest test for everything else, as Isaiah says to speak according to the law and the testimony.

God has indeed spoken in many ways. Scripture shows He has warned and directed people through dreams in the night when deep sleep falls, as Job describes, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride and preserve them from the pit, and He has done this with those who knew Him and even with those who did not, like Abimelech in Genesis, and Laban, and Nebuchadnezzar, and with Joseph and the magi who were warned in dreams. The prophet Joel foretold that in the last days God would pour out His Spirit on all people, so that sons and daughters would prophesy and young men would see visions and old men would dream dreams, and Peter saw that promise fulfilled when the Holy Spirit fell on the household of Cornelius while he was preaching Christ, just as He had fallen at Pentecost. Peter remembered the words of the Lord that John baptized with water but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and he understood that this was God's own work that no one should stand against.

That history reminds us of two important truths for your situation. First, the Holy Spirit has been at work from the beginning, moving over the waters in creation, convicting of sin and drawing hearts to Jesus before conversion, and then coming to indwell every person who truly believes and confesses Jesus as Lord. Your body becomes His temple when you trust Christ. The baptism with the Holy Spirit that John and Jesus spoke of is that outpouring that was first given at Pentecost as a gift to the church, and from that point on Scripture never again commands believers to wait or tarry for the Spirit as if He had not yet been given. What Scripture does command is to be filled with the Spirit continually.

Second, the filling and the leading of the Spirit are what you need daily for this family struggle. Jesus Himself, after the Spirit descended upon Him at His baptism when the Father declared Him the beloved Son, was full of the Holy Spirit and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. He is our example that a life filled and led by the Spirit is God's will for His children, and as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God, and you will recognize the Shepherd's voice as you walk with Him.

That leading will never contradict the written Word, because David spoke by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and all Scripture is given by Him. Visions, dreams, counsel, and even impressions must be tested by the Word. Wise counsel is a blessing and in a multitude of counselors there is safety, but godly counsel will always align with Scripture. The Spirit's great work in you is not primarily to give you extraordinary signs in the heavens, though God has used signs, but to conform you to the image of Jesus, to give you power to be like Christ and to do His works, and to make His Word alive to you.

For you as a husband praying for a wayward wife, for your children and extended family, this means feeding your spirit more faithfully than your flesh. Prayer and the Word feed the spirit as food feeds the body. When we are very faithful to feed the body three times a day and negligent to feed the spirit, the flesh overcomes. Fasting and prayer with the Word reverse that and strengthen the spirit for victory. As you do this, ask to be filled anew and to be led step by step, not driven by fear or by the noise of the world.

I join you in agreement according to Matthew 18:19, praying that God who is able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus because He lives to intercede for them, will do what is impossible with man but possible with God. His arm is not too short to save, and no purpose of His can be thwarted, and light is stronger than darkness. Pray with humble confidence that He can do all things.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict of sin where needed, draw each heart to repentance and faith in Christ alone for salvation, guard your marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman that God designed, and keep you all from temptation, deception, and the evil one. May He grant to your wife a clear warning and turning from wrongdoing if she is walking away from the Lord and from her vows, and grant to you a pure heart, sincere faith, and a blameless conscience, with His incomprehensible peace as you make your requests known with thanksgiving. May He strengthen you to love faithfully, to speak truth in love, and to trust that He will provide everything needed for life and godliness as you remain in Christ.
