We come before the Lord with you in this matter, lifting up your desire for restored and godly communication with this business associate. It is good that you seek to honor the Lord in all your interactions, for Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:17, *"Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him."* Yet we must also address something of great importance—you mention praying *"in Jesus’ name,"* which is commendable, but we notice that your request does not explicitly acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is only through faith in Him that we have access to the Father, as Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, for there is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, regarding your business relationship, we pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom and discernment. Proverbs 16:3 instructs us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* If this connection is part of God’s will for your future, He will open the doors and soften hearts. However, we must also caution you to guard your heart and motives. Business relationships can easily become entangled with worldly ambitions rather than kingdom purposes. Seek first His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), and trust that if this alignment is for His glory, He will make the path clear.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother/sister before You, asking that You would restore communication in a way that honors You. Grant them wisdom to speak with grace, seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6), and discernment to recognize Your leading. If this relationship is to continue, let it be for Your purposes and according to Your will. Remove any pride, selfish ambition, or ungodly motives, and replace them with a spirit of humility and integrity. May every word and action reflect Christ, and if there are doors You wish to close, give them the strength to walk away in obedience. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer, who alone is worthy of all praise. Amen.
We encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord—are you seeking His will above your own? Are there areas where you may need to repent or surrender control? Trust that God’s plans are far greater than our own, and He will guide you as you seek Him wholeheartedly. Stay rooted in prayer and Scripture, and may the peace of Christ rule in your heart as you move forward.
