I am asking for prayers about my high cholesterol. My mom and brother also have a history of this and at my last check-up I was told that I should seriously consider getting on medication. My BMI is slightly high at .1 above the normal range whereas before it was lower when I was about 25 pounds lighter (prior to having 2 kids in a 13 month period). I praise God for giving me the desire to work out since getting this medical news in September and for the strength to work out about five days a week since then on my trampoline. At this point, I feel hopeful that between not eating any meat (which I dropped in September) and working out consistently, I will not need to get on medication. I am wrestling with the fear that getting on medication means I am weak and that I have failed somehow. I know this is not true because Jesus holds the victory and I am justified by faith through Grace. I have also been feeling discouraged that although I have seen changes in my body, my weight has remained the same since September. My doctor told me I am eligible for a weight loss medication due to my high cholesterol as much as that idea attracts me of getting on weight loss medication. I don’t know which way is ultimately the best for me: whether that is to get on cholesterol medication to lower my cholesterol or to get on weight loss medication or to do neither and try to lower my weight and cholesterol through exercise and diet alone. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ to get peace on which route is the best for my physical health and my mental well-being. Thank you.

We lift you up before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking Him for your heart of faith and your commitment to steward your body well for His glory. Your dedication to exercise and mindful eating is a testament to the discipline God is cultivating in you, and we rejoice in the ways He is already at work in your life. The Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Your body is a gift from Him, and He is faithful to guide you in caring for it wisely.

We also recognize the fear and discouragement creeping into your heart—the lie that medication equates to weakness or failure. But sister, let us remind you of 2 Corinthians 12:9, where the Lord says to Paul, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* Your worth is not tied to your ability to "fix" this on your own, nor is your strength measured by human standards. God’s power is perfected in our surrender, whether that means trusting Him through lifestyle changes, medication, or both. There is no shame in seeking medical help when needed—wisdom often involves using the tools and resources God has provided through modern medicine. Proverbs 16:3 encourages us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* This includes committing your health decisions to Him, trusting that He will lead you in the right direction.

Your struggle with the scale not reflecting your efforts is understandable, but we urge you to remember that numbers do not define progress. God sees the heart, the effort, and the faithfulness behind the actions. In Galatians 6:9, we are told, *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up."* Keep persevering, sister. The Lord is working even when you cannot see the immediate results.

As for the decision between cholesterol medication, weight loss medication, or continuing with lifestyle changes alone, we pray that the Lord grants you clarity and peace. James 1:5 promises, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."* Seek His wisdom through prayer, His Word, and godly counsel—whether from your doctor, a trusted believer, or both. There is no one-size-fits-all answer, but there is a path that aligns with *His* will for *your* body and *your* walk with Him. If medication is part of that path, it does not diminish your faith; it may very well be an act of stewardship.

We also want to gently address the mention of weight loss medication. While we understand the appeal, we encourage you to prayerfully consider the motives and potential long-term effects. Is this a decision rooted in trust in God’s provision, or is it driven by impatience or worldly standards? Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This includes your physical needs. If weight loss medication is something you pursue, we pray it is done with wisdom, under medical supervision, and with a heart fully submitted to the Lord’s leading—not as a "quick fix," but as a tool He may use for His purposes.

Lastly, we celebrate your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is *only* through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Your faith in Him is your victory, and we declare that over you now. The enemy wants to steal your peace with fear and discouragement, but *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Stand firm in that truth.

**Let us pray:**
Heavenly Father, we thank You for our sister and for the way You are moving in her life. Lord, You know the desires of her heart—to honor You with her body, to walk in health, and to trust You in every decision. We ask that You remove every trace of fear, shame, or discouragement that the enemy has tried to place upon her. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her wisdom, Lord, as she considers the path forward for her health. If medication is part of Your plan, grant her confidence in that decision. If lifestyle changes alone are Your will, give her perseverance and patience to wait on You. Remind her daily that her value is not in her BMI, her cholesterol levels, or her ability to "fix" herself, but in Christ alone, who has already declared her righteous and beloved.

We pray for her body—every cell, every system—to align with Your design for health and wholeness. Bless her efforts in the gym and in her diet, and let her see the fruit of her labor in Your timing. Protect her from comparison, from impatience, and from the lies that would distract her from Your truth. Surround her with godly counsel and medical professionals who seek Your wisdom.

Above all, Lord, draw her closer to You through this journey. Let her health be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and let her trust in You grow deeper with each step. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and our Redeemer. Amen.

We're right here with you, sister. We see your dedication to taking care of your body, and we're cheering you on. It's true, God has given us the responsibility to steward our bodies well, but remember, He's also faithful to help us in every step.

We understand the fear that medication might mean weakness, but let's remind ourselves of 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Your worth and strength are not measured by your ability to fix this on your own. God's power is perfected in our surrender, whether that means trusting Him through lifestyle changes, medication, or both.

We also want to encourage you that progress isn't always linear or visible on the scale. God sees your effort and faithfulness. Keep pressing on, and trust that He's working even when you can't see the immediate results.

As for the decision about medication, we pray that God grants you clarity and peace. Seek His wisdom through prayer, His Word, and godly counsel. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but there is a path that aligns with His will for your body and your walk with Him.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's provision. He promises in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Trust that He will supply your physical needs, too.

Let's keep praying together, sister. We believe in you, and we're here for you.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
