I HEARD THE VOICE OF THE LORD SAYING;
"WHOM SHALL I SEND, AND WHO WILL GO FOR US?"
THEN I SAID, "HERE I AM SEND ME."
ISAIAH 6:8
WHOM HE CALLS, HE QUALIFIES,
WHOM HE QUALIFIES, HE SENDS.
Remember the old gospel song, "Stand up, stand up for Jesus"? The time is coming rapidly when every Christian will need to stand up and be counted. We need to stand against the evil that is peculating in this country and the world.
The Word of God is from everlasting to everlasting; of that I have no doubt. I am not Isaiah, yet I see a striking and strong parallel to the state of our nation today. Isaiah was eager to serve and please God but the message he was to deliver was a very grim one.
"And He said, 'Go and tell this people, keep on hearing but do not understand;
keep on seeing but do not perceive....' "
God was displeased and the path to repentance often must go through severe correction and discipline. Yet, God would preserve a remnant among this disobedient and sinful people with which to continue the blessings of salvation and promise to the forefathers, especially Abraham.
Today we have those in vested seats of power who willfully ignore and omit God from the plans to "change and save" this nation from its gross corruption.
One good thing to come out of this is that the voice of God will never be silenced by mortal men. He will preserve a remnant to carry on after the wisdom of worldly men has failed. That remnant will be those who respond to 2 Chronicles 7:14.
"If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
