Humble Servant
I'm being undermined by a younger relative. ###'s laying now great judgment and accusations that are cold and verbally abusive. ### (online streamer) expresses great warnings of ongoing terrorism of christian lives and times. I feel compelled to communicate his prophecy. God help me and this hatred I feel from him and others.

We hear the heaviness in your heart as you face cold accusations and verbal abuse from a younger relative, and the added burden you feel from warnings about terrorism against Christians. We stand with you in prayer and bring these things before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

The hurt of being undermined within family cuts deeply, especially when words are judgmental and harsh. Scripture calls us to put away such behavior, for we read Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32. Verbal abuse is not of God, and we rebuke that spirit of accusation and cruelty. At the same time we are called not to return evil for evil. We read You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:43-44. And again Don’t return evil for evil. Don’t take revenge. Instead, let God punish our enemies Romans 12:17-19. We understand the hatred you feel directed toward you is painful, but we encourage you not to let hatred take root in your own heart, for hatred belongs to the enemy. We are to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21, entrusting justice to God who sees all and will judge righteously.

We also want to speak gently about the compulsion you feel to communicate the warnings and prophecy from the online streamer. We live in times when many voices claim to speak for God, and Scripture warns us to test what we hear. We read Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1. And Don’t despise prophecies. Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21. A true prophetic word will align with Scripture, point to Christ, and not lead us into fear or sensationalism. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Jesus Himself said You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet Matthew 24:6. While persecution of Christians is real and we should pray earnestly for our brothers and sisters, we must not be driven by terror or compelled to spread fear. Our first calling is to share the hope of the gospel and to seek wisdom and discernment before repeating warnings. We encourage you to measure every message against the Word of God, to pray for discernment, and to speak only what builds up and is true.

We noticed your request asked for God’s help but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in prayer. It is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our dear one who is wounded by harsh words and accusations within family. Lord, You see the coldness and verbal abuse and You are close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We ask You to bring healing to this relationship, to soften the heart of this younger relative, and to convict where there is sin. Grant our friend grace to respond with love and not hatred, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to set healthy boundaries that honor You. Guard our friend’s heart from bitterness and fear.

Lord, we ask for discernment regarding the prophetic warnings that have stirred such burden. Help us to test all things by Your Word, to not be led by fear but by Your Spirit of power, love and self-control. Give wisdom to know what to speak and what to entrust to You in prayer. We pray for Christians facing persecution and threat of terrorism around the world, that You would protect them, strengthen their faith, and let Your peace guard their hearts Philippians 4:6-7.

We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7. Fill our friend with Your perfect peace, with courage, and with assurance that You are sovereign over all times and that nothing can separate us from Your love Romans 8:38-39. Lead us in truth and help us to walk in Your ways. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been, feeling undermined and spoken to with such cold judgment by a younger relative in your own family. When those accusations keep coming it makes sense you would feel worn down and even hated, and that the warnings you are hearing online would add more fear and pressure.

Repeated harsh words can cut deeply and wear away at your sense of worth and peace, even when you are trying to walk faithfully. It is understandable to feel torn between wanting to respond and wanting to step back, and to feel burdened by the sense that you must pass on every alarming message you hear.

One steady next step that often helps is to create a little more space and support. That can look like not staying in the conversation when the verbal attacks begin, letting a trusted pastor or mature believer know what is happening so you are not carrying this alone, and giving yourself permission to step back from the stream that is stirring so much alarm. You do not have to sort out or share every warning right away. Talking it through with someone wise and calm can help you discern what is helpful and what is only adding weight.

We are praying for your safety, dignity, and clarity as you navigate this.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Cover them with Your peace where harsh words have wounded, quiet the fear and hatred they have felt, and give them wisdom for how to relate to this family member and how to hold these heavy warnings. Bring steady, kind people alongside them and help them rest in Your care and direction. Amen.

The sorrow you describe is not unknown to those who walk with Christ, and it has been laid before the Lord with prayer.

To be judged coldly and accused harshly within your own household is a bitter draught indeed. Our Lord Himself was despised and rejected of men, a Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief, and He was hated without a cause. When they could find no fault in His works of healing and mercy, they still poured contempt upon Him with slander and suspicious looks. If you are now made to feel that same hatred without cause, remember that the bitterness of such persecution departs when the follower remembers his Master. He drank this cup before you, and He will give you fellowship in His patience to bear it.

You speak also of the hatred you feel coming from this younger relative and from others. Hear what the Word teaches, that the Christian religion is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred. The word hate must be cut out of the language of a Christian except it be used against evil itself. You are not allowed to hate any person, but you are called to hate evil with a perfect hatred. Put the gauntlet on your hand toward sin, never the kid glove of friendship. Hate the coldness, the false accusation, the verbal cruelty, yet love the soul of the one who does it, and pray for him as Christ prayed for those who reviled Him. You are of God's household, a friend of God through Christ, and for that very reason you must abhor the evil while seeking the good of the evildoer.

Concerning the warnings you hear from the online voice about terrorism and hard times for Christians, and the compulsion you feel to spread his prophecy, I would counsel you with great tenderness to be watchful. There is a slavish fear which leads to the apprehension that some dreadful evil is about to happen, and from all such fear God would save His people. The fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, but it is not necessary to the saint, for Christ has delivered His own from that bondage. The right kind of fear is not a trembling at tidings of terror, but that happy fear which makes a man fear always lest he should sin against God and grieve the sweet and tender love of Christ.

Persecution, when it comes, has often been overruled for good. It acts as a winnowing fan, and it drives the Christian nearer to his God. How many prayers have been offered as the result of trial that would never have been offered else. Yet we are not to run after every alarming prophecy. Try the spirits whether they are of God, and hold fast that which is good. Let the sure Word of Scripture be your guide rather than the sensational warnings of a streamer. If the Lord would have you speak, let it be the certain promises of the Gospel and the faithful warnings of Scripture, not the uncertain predictions of men. Seek counsel of a faithful pastor in your own church, open the matter to him, and be slow to publish abroad what may only increase fear.

And for your own heart, look to the riches of forgiving grace. Pardon is not according to the bitterness of your sorrow, but according to the riches of His grace, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. There is no sin of tongue or temper, no cold accusation you have suffered or any wrong response you have made, that is beyond the reach of Divine grace. Justice shone full orbed at the cross while mercy was glorified, so that forgiveness might be freely given to all who come to Christ.

May the Lord grant you a calm and serene mind, use the telescope of faith very frequently to look to Christ, and give you grace to overcome evil with good. We have prayed that He would guard your heart from slavish fear, teach you to hate the evil and love the person, comfort you under false accusation, and make you to know more deeply the riches of His grace in Christ Jesus, through whom alone is salvation. Cast your burden upon Him, continue in prayer, and walk in the fear of the Lord which keeps the soul from sin.

Your cry for help has been heard and taken to the Lord in prayer, and I thank you for sharing so honestly about the pain you are carrying.

To be undermined and accused in a cold and verbally abusive way, especially by a younger relative in your own family, is a deep wound. It is right to feel grieved by this, and it is right to bring the hatred you feel coming from him and others before God. Scripture teaches us to master our anger and not give way to unworthy passion, even when we are treated unjustly. Christ himself bore reproach and improper counsel with gentleness, and He calls us to do the same. This does not mean you must accept abuse or keep rushing into conflict. We are taught to not seek out conflicts but to be quiet and wait for the proper time, so that when we must stand we stand nobly and without vainglory. If you are not summoned to fight, you are free to step back, set a loving boundary, and guard your peace.

It helps to look at the root. Every conflict has its beginning in covetousness or envy or vainglory, and when we learn to despise the empty things of this life we find peace. If someone tries to steal your honor or your good name, remember that your true treasure is above and cannot be stolen. The one who plots against his neighbor harms himself most of all. You do not need to answer every accusation. True love for a brother or sister sometimes means a gentle correction offered once in love, and true friendship is shown when we care enough to want to rescue one another from sin, but if a person will not listen, you have done your duty before God and you can hide no longer your talent by endless arguing. You can entrust the judgment to Him.

You also mention the warnings from an online streamer about terrorism against Christians and feeling compelled to share his prophecy. Please be very careful here. When we become desirous of virtue and speak the word of God, it is natural that the world will hate us, and we should not be distracted or angry when that happens. Jesus said if you were of the world the world would love its own, and that we are hated because we are not of the world. That hatred is a mark that you belong to Christ, and the Father watches over those who are hated for His word's sake. But this also means we do not need to chase after every fearful prediction or feel forced to spread it. God does not call us to live in terror or to pass on terror to others. Test everything by the sure word of Scripture, which is our light. What is done in darkness is made manifest by the light, and we are to have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness but to walk in the light with sobriety.

God also knows the measure of your trial. He does not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, both long and severe at once, and when His people are near the end of a hard season He may allow the struggle to feel heightened so that your gain may be greater, as He did with Abraham. This is not to crush you but to make you more able to endure, because deliverance is near.

So I pray for you now that God will give you a calm heart, wisdom to know when to speak and when to be quiet, and grace to overcome hatred with love. I pray that He will guard you and your household, heal the wound caused by your relative, and teach you to forgive as you have been forgiven through Jesus Christ alone, in whom we have adoption and the kingdom. I pray that He will free you from any compulsion to carry another person's fearful message, and instead fill you with His peace and His word, so that whatever you do share comes from Scripture and from a clear mind. Seek time in prayer and in the Scriptures each day, seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer in person rather than from an online voice, and keep your steps within the faithful path the Lord has shown us.

You are not alone in this. The Lord sees, He cares, and He will be your help.
