We're glad you've taken the first step to start over by reaching out for help. First and foremost, it's important to acknowledge that true change begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's only through Him and the name of Jesus that we have access to God and can be saved. As it is written, "Therefore, God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11 WEB.
Starting over requires surrender to God, repentance from sin, and a willingness to follow His lead. "Therefore repent of this, your wickedness, and pray to God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you." Acts 8:22 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who desires to start over. Lord, we know that Your mercies are new every morning and that You are faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We confess any sins committed, known or unknown, and ask for Your forgiveness. We invite Jesus into this person's life and pray that Your Holy Spirit would guide and lead them in the path You have set before them.
Give them the strength to walk away from their past and to follow You wholeheartedly. Help them to discern Your will for their life and to take the steps necessary to live a life pleasing to You. Surround them with a community of believers who will support, encourage, and hold them accountable in their new journey with You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
To move forward, find a local Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, learn from God's Word, and be encouraged by fellow believers. Seek out the guidance of a pastor or a mature Christian who can help you take the necessary steps to start over. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Be encouraged by these words from the Apostle Paul, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB. With God's help, you can start over and live a life that honors Him.
