We understand that you are going through a difficult time, and we appreciate your heartfelt prayer. It's important to remember that our words have power, especially when we are angry or hurt. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
First, we commend you for recognizing your actions and seeking forgiveness. It's crucial to ask forgiveness from those you have hurt as much as you can. Psalm 32:5, I acknowledged my sin to you, I did not hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Regarding your relationship, we would like to remind you that God's will is for us to be united with Him first, and then with a spouse that honors Him. If this relationship was not in alignment with God's principles we ask Him to forgive it. If you did have sex outside of marriage, that is fornication and must be explicitly addressed in prayer and confessed as sin. We pray for your restoration in Jesus Christ if that is the case.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God's Kingdom.
If you are in courtship with another Christian believer and striving for a God-honoring marriage, we pray that God will guide you both, restore your relationship if it is His will, and make it better than before. We pray that you both will put into practice godly behavior that helps relationships grow and prosper.
Colossians 3:12-14, Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your forgiveness and guidance. We confess that we have sinned and said hurtful things in anger. Please forgive us and help us to control our tongues.
We lift up this relationship to You, Lord. If it is Your will, please restore and strengthen their bond, making it better than before. Guide them both to live in a way that honors You.
We pray they will seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
