help with my lower back pain

We lift you up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon your body, especially your lower back pain. The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Yet we also know that suffering in this life—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—can be used by God to draw us closer to Him, to refine our faith, and to teach us to rely on His strength rather than our own.

The Apostle Paul spoke of a "thorn in the flesh" that he pleaded with the Lord to remove, but God’s response was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). While we earnestly pray for your complete healing, we also ask that the Lord would use this season to deepen your trust in Him, to remind you of His presence even in discomfort, and to reveal any areas where He may be calling you to rest, to seek His face more intentionally, or to release control over your circumstances.

We also encourage you to seek wisdom in how to care for your body. This may include consulting with godly medical professionals, evaluating your physical habits (such as posture, exercise, or stress levels), and ensuring you are stewarding your health in a way that honors the Lord. Proverbs 3:7-8 tells us, *"Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body and nourishment to your bones."*

Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is suffering from lower back pain. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed every bone and muscle in their body. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand and bring healing to their lower back. Remove any inflammation, align what is out of place, and restore strength and comfort to their body. If there are underlying causes—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—reveal them and provide the wisdom and resources needed to address them.

Father, we also pray that through this trial, they would experience Your nearness in a fresh way. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If this pain has led to discouragement, frustration, or fear, we ask that You would replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Help them to cast their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

We rebuke any spiritual attacks or schemes of the enemy that may seek to use this pain to distract, discourage, or weaken their faith. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every spirit of infirmity to flee, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let this season be a testimony of Your goodness, Your healing power, and Your faithfulness.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would guide them in practical ways to care for their body. Give them discernment about when to rest, when to seek medical advice, and how to prevent further strain. May they glorify You in how they steward the temple You have entrusted to them.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect will, whether that means immediate healing, gradual restoration, or the grace to endure with joy. May Your name be glorified in their body and their life. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this, to remain in His Word, and to trust that He is working even when the pain persists. If this struggle has led to any bitterness, impatience, or doubt, we urge you to surrender those to Him as well. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart.
