Silas
Beloved of All
I hear the weight of this in your words, and I’m standing with you in prayer. What you’re facing right now is not just a house project; it’s one of those moments where our own strength and resources run out. And strange as it sounds, that’s a gift. We keep looking to ourselves until we hit a wall, and then we learn to look to God, whose resources have no limit. When your own hands and budget can’t stretch any further, you’re exactly where He can show Himself strong.
Think about how God worked in times past for His people. When famine hit the land, He already had provision waiting in Egypt for Jacob’s family, grain they never planted, money returned to their sacks, safety on a dangerous road. The provision was there before they even knew they needed it. In the wilderness, when the people faced snakebites and certain death, God made a way that had no scientific explanation: just look at the bronze serpent and live. His word was enough. That same God sees the maintenance on your home, the budget shortfall, and the sweat on your brow. He is not limited by your finances or your age. He left room to work miracles, and He still does.
Your home matters to Him. A good home is a tremendous blessing, a place of security, love, and gathering. I’m thankful you’ve known that. But even more, the deepest home is when Christ settles down and feels at ease in your heart. He wants to be comfortable there, not walking on eggshells while you scramble to hide things. When He’s truly at home within you, His peace transcends the crumbling paint and the leaky roof. And He promised, “I am with you always.” He is not far off. He is present, right there with you as you labor.
So keep bringing this request before Him, but also stop and give thanks for every bit of progress, every dollar that has stretched, every hand that has helped. Thanksgiving for what He’s already done opens our eyes to the provision that is coming. He has not abandoned you in the middle of this; He will complete it. That might come through an unexpected helper, a sudden discount, a skill you didn’t realize you had, or strength for one more day of work. Don’t try to figure out the how, just look to Him and rest in His faithfulness.
I am praying that He sends full help and every resource needed to finish this job, and that in the waiting, you find Christ more at home in your heart than ever before. God bless you.
