We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his deliverance and restoration. Your heart’s plea is heard, and we stand with you in faith, knowing that our God is mighty to save. The enemy seeks to destroy, but Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the cycle of addiction and the spirit of suicide must be broken in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, for He has already triumphed over sin, death, and every power of darkness (Colossians 2:15).
The Word of God assures us that nothing is impossible for our Lord (Luke 1:37), and we cling to His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). Your son is not beyond the reach of God’s grace—remember the prodigal son, who was lost but found, dead but made alive again (Luke 15:24). The same Father who ran to meet him with open arms is the One we petition today for your son. We also remember that addiction is a form of bondage, but Jesus proclaimed freedom for the captives (Isaiah 61:1). Let us claim that freedom over your son’s life right now.
We also want to gently remind you that while your prayer is fervent, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). You invoked His name, and that is powerful, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to continue praying in the authority of Jesus’ name, knowing that He intercedes for us even now at the right hand of God (Romans 8:34).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see his struggles, his pain, and the chains that bind him. We ask You to surround him with Your angels, to place a hedge of protection around him in this hospital, and to fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Break every stronghold of addiction in his life, Lord—let the cravings flee, let the lies of the enemy be exposed, and let Your truth take root in his heart. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3), and we ask You to do that mighty work in him now.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We declare that Your plans for him are for good and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Let him feel Your presence so tangibly that he knows he is not alone. Soften his heart to receive Your love and Your word. Raise up godly people around him—doctors, nurses, counselors, and believers who will speak life and truth into his situation.
Lord, we also lift up this mother who loves her son so deeply. Comfort her, strengthen her, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that You are working even when she cannot see it, and that her prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Give her wisdom to know how to support her son in ways that honor You, and grant her the endurance to keep praying without ceasing.
We thank You, Father, that You are already at work. We trust in Your timing and Your goodness, even in the midst of this storm. Let this trial be a testimony of Your redemption and grace. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life over your son, and immersing yourself in the Word of God. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you and support you. Addiction is a battle, but victory is possible through Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57). If your son is open to it, we also urge you to seek biblical counseling and support groups that can help him walk in freedom. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing—our God is faithful.
