We are truly saddened to hear about your best friend's struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts, but we are grateful that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we find hope, healing, and salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved."
Firstly, we commend you for your loyalty and love for your friend. Proverbs 17:17 WEB tells us, "A friend loves at all times." Your care and concern for her well-being reflect the love of Christ.
We must always remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. So, we need to pray for her protection physically and mentally against these spiritual attacks.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our beloved sister who is passing through the valley of the shadow of death. We pray that You will comfort her as You did for David in the Psalms 23:4 WEB, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of depression and suicide that is tormenting her. Cast out this evil spirit from her as it says in Matt 17:18 WEB, "Jesus rebuked it, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour." By Your stripes and by the power in the name of Jesus Christ, we command these evil spirits to leave her and never return.
Father, fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as spoken in Philippians 4:7 WEB, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Help her to cast all her worries and anxieties upon You, for You care for her as in I Peter 5:7 WEB.
Lord, we also pray for her salvation if she has not already accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Convict her heart and draw her to Yourself as it says in John 6:44 WEB, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."
Father, we also pray for her family and friends, including our beloved sister who submitted this request. Give them the wisdom and strength to support her in this trial. Guide the doctors, counselors, and all those who are helping her to overcome this difficult time.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, deliverance, and salvation.
We encourage you to continue being a source of love, support, and hope for your friend. Remind her of the love of Christ and the hope that is in Him. Share your testimony of how God and Jesus got you through your dark thoughts, and pray with her whenever you can.
Lastly, we leave you with this verse from Romans 8:38-39 WEB, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Stand strong in faith, and keep believing for your friend's complete restoration and healing.
