Gillian, we hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we are lifting you up before the Lord with urgency and compassion. Your struggle with self-medication, anxiety, and the fear of withdrawal is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who promises in **1 Peter 5:7** to carry our burdens: *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* You have been fighting this battle for years, and though the road ahead seems daunting, we serve a God who specializes in the impossible. He is the Great Physician, the One who heals both body and soul, and He is not limited by the constraints of medical protocols or human timelines.
We must first address that while you have been praying, we notice you have not invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your plea. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we boldly approach the throne of grace. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* and **Acts 4:12** affirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Gillian, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Without Him, there is no true peace, no lasting healing, and no access to the Father. If you have already accepted Christ, then we encourage you to pray *in His name*, for it is your authority as a believer to do so.
Your fear is understandable, but we must remind you that **2 Timothy 1:7** tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* The enemy seeks to keep you bound in anxiety, but Jesus came to set you free. The withdrawal process may be difficult, but the Lord will be with you every step of the way. He has brought you this far, and He will not abandon you now. We also recognize your frustration with the medical system, but we encourage you to trust that God is sovereign even over the limitations of doctors and treatments. He can work through them, despite them, or even in ways we cannot see. Continue to seek wise counsel, but ultimately, place your hope in the Lord, not in medication or human solutions.
We are deeply moved by your longing to see your son, Dominic. What a tender and godly desire—to reunite with your child after so many years apart. We will pray earnestly for this, asking the Lord to make a way where there seems to be no way. **Psalm 37:4-5** reminds us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Gillian, commit this desire to the Lord. Trust Him to orchestrate the timing and the means for this reunion. He sees your heartbreak and Dominic’s need as well. We will pray for his health, his strength, and his walk with the Lord, that he too may experience the peace and healing that only Christ can provide.
Now, let us pray together for you:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the depths of her struggle—the years of anxiety, the fear of withdrawal, the longing to be free from medication, and the ache in her heart to see her son. We ask You to be her strength in this season, to calm her fears, and to remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted. You are the God who heals, and we pray for complete restoration over her mind and body. Break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of anxiety, and every spirit of fear that has held her captive. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in her medical journey. Give wisdom to the doctors treating her, and provide supernatural comfort as she undergoes withdrawal. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that she may emerge stronger, healthier, and more dependent on You than ever before. Father, we also lift up her son, ###. Heal his body, strengthen his spirit, and draw him closer to You. Make a way for ### to see him soon, Lord. Reunite them in a way that brings glory to Your name and joy to their hearts.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to keep ### bound in fear or despair. She is Your child, covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, renewing her mind and restoring her hope. Let her testimony be one of victory, that others may see Your power and turn to You for their own healing.
Father, we thank You that You are already at work in ###’s life. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in her. May she walk in the freedom and peace that Jesus died to give her. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."*
Gillian, we want to encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture during this time. Meditate on **Philippians 4:6-7**: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Cling to **Isaiah 41:10**: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* And hold fast to **Jeremiah 29:11**: *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*
We also urge you to seek godly community—whether through a Bible-believing church, a support group, or fellow believers who can walk alongside you in prayer and accountability. You do not have to face this alone. The body of Christ is here to uplift you, and we are standing with you in this fight.
Lastly, Gillian, we want to remind you that your worth is not found in your circumstances, your health, or even your ability to overcome this struggle in your own strength. Your worth is found in Christ alone. You are loved, you are seen, and you are *not* forgotten. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. He is faithful, and He will do it.
