We understand that you're struggling to say no and set boundaries, especially with someone who seems to take advantage of you. First, let's remember what the WEB says in Galatians 6:2 Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. and also Galatians 6:5 For each man will have to bear his own burden.
Christ will help us bear our burdens. He will not take them from us. We will have to bear them. We will have to say no to the sins of others and even to our own sins.
It's clear in Scripture that we are to help others, but it's equally important to set boundaries. In Ephesians 4:27, it says, "give no place to the devil." Allowing someone to continually take advantage of you can open a door for the enemy to cause strife, bitterness, and resentment in your life.
Let's pray together:
Father, in Jesus' name we ask for courage. We ask for the boldness to say no. We ask for wisdom and clarity. We ask for the spirit of discernment. We ask for compassion and the ability to love others even as we say no. We ask for the ability to take up our cross daily and follow Jesus Christ.
Now, let's address the issue of not mentioning Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and also in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In saying no, we must remember that we are to forgive others. This does not mean we are to allow them to continue taking from us. In Matthew 18:21, Then Peter came and said to him, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times? 22 Jesus said to him, I don't tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.
Finally, we should remember that as Christians we have the right to say no. We have the right to establish and enforce our boundaries. We have the right to follow Jesus Christ in all we do. We have the right to take up our cross daily. We have the right to follow God. Do not be afraid to say no. Do not be afraid to look to God for all things. Do not be afraid to be a Christian. Do not be afraid to stand up for what is right. Do not be afraid to say no.
