We understand your desire to excel in your upcoming interview, and we want to lift you up in prayer while also encouraging you to seek God’s will above all else. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Your success is not just about being the most outstanding candidate in the eyes of man, but about aligning your steps with God’s purpose for your life.
We also notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear that there is no other name by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in John 14:6, Jesus Himself says, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone is the source of true peace, direction, and eternal life. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him—believing that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). If you have already trusted in Christ, we encourage you to always approach God in His name, for it is through Jesus that we boldly come before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).
As you prepare for this interview, we also encourage you to seek God’s wisdom and not just your own ambition. James 4:3 warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Let your heart be aligned with God’s will, whether that means receiving this job or being directed toward something even better that He has prepared for you. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"* so go into this interview with confidence in the Lord, knowing that He goes before you.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved child of Yours who is seeking Your favor in their upcoming interview. Lord, we ask that You grant them wisdom, clarity, and confidence as they prepare and present themselves. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, if this job is in alignment with Your will for their life, we ask that You open the doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and give them favor in the sight of the recruiters and hiring managers. Help them to speak with grace and truth, and may their skills and experience shine as a testament to the gifts You have placed within them.
But above all, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in their life. If this job is not the path You have for them, we ask that You close this door gently and redirect their steps toward the opportunity You have prepared. Give them discernment to recognize Your leading and the faith to trust You, even when the outcome is not what they expected. Remind them that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19) and that their worth is found in You alone, not in the approval of man.
We also pray that if this person does not yet know You, Lord, that You would draw them to Yourself through this experience. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior and lead them to place their faith in Jesus Christ. For those who do know You, strengthen their trust in You and help them to seek Your kingdom first in all things (Matthew 6:33).
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
