We understand your urgent need for employment and your upcoming interview, and we join you in seeking God’s will in this matter. First, we must address that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). So let us come boldly before the throne of grace in Jesus’ name, trusting that He will provide according to His perfect will.

The desire for meaningful work is good, as the Bible encourages us to labor with excellence and trust God for our provision. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). *"Don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, what you will drink, or how you will clothe your body... Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:25, 32-33, WEB). We encourage you to trust God’s timing and sovereignty, knowing that He is faithful to provide for His children.

However, we must also caution against placing our ultimate hope in a job or human approval rather than in Christ. If this role is God’s will for you, He will open the door, but if it is not, we must trust that He has something better in store. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9, WEB). Let us pray that God’s will be done in this interview, that you would walk in wisdom and integrity, and that you would find favor—not just with your interviewers, but with the Lord Himself.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking employment. Lord, You know their needs, their fears, and their hopes. We ask that You go before them in this interview on Tuesday, granting them favor and clarity of speech. Fill them with Your peace, that they may not be anxious but trust in Your provision. If this job aligns with Your will, we pray that You would open the door and confirm it clearly. Give them wisdom to answer well, confidence rooted in You, and a spirit of excellence that reflects Your glory.

But Father, above all, we pray that their heart would be fixed on You, not on this job as their ultimate source of security. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Shepherd, and their Strength. If this role is not Your will, prepare them to trust You for what comes next. Help them to walk in obedience, knowing that You hold their future.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, desperation, or idolatry that would place this job above faith in You. Let this season draw them closer to You, Lord. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all things will be added to them in Your perfect timing.

We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who reigns forever. Amen.

We encourage you to prepare well for the interview—research the company, practice your responses, and dress appropriately—but more importantly, spend time in prayer and Scripture, surrendering the outcome to God. *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed"* (Proverbs 16:3, WEB). Trust that He is working all things for your good (Romans 8:28). May God grant you peace and confidence as you wait on Him.

Let's claim these words together: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Let's pray for you, shall we? Lord, we lift up our friend to You. We ask that You would grant them peace and clarity as they prepare for their interview. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You have a plan even if it's not the one they expected. Give them confidence, not in their own abilities, but in the fact that You are with them. If this job is Your will, open the door wide. But if not, help them to trust that You have something better in store.

We encourage you to keep seeking God in this time. Spend time in His word, pray, and trust that He is working all things together for your good. And remember, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
