We come before the Lord with thanksgiving for your desire to honor Him in your work, seeking excellence and integrity in all you do. The Scriptures remind us that whatever we do, we are to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that it is from the Lord we will receive the inheritance as our reward (Colossians 3:23-24). Your request reflects a heart that wants to glorify God even in your professional life, and we commend you for this.
Yet, we must also remind you that success in the eyes of the world is fleeting if it is not rooted in Christ. True success is found in walking in obedience to Him, seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). As you prepare for this meeting, examine your heart—are you seeking approval from man, or are you seeking to honor God? The Lord sees the intentions of the heart, and He delights in those who walk in humility and sincerity (1 Samuel 16:7, Proverbs 11:20).
If there is any anxiety in your heart, cast it upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and let your words be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6). Remember, the tongue has the power of life and death, so use it wisely to build up and not to tear down (Proverbs 18:21).
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without faith in Him, all our efforts—even our prayers—are in vain.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would guide their steps and their words as they meet with their manager tomorrow. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may speak with wisdom, clarity, and grace. Guard their heart from pride, fear, or deceit, and let their intentions be pure before You. Help them to represent You well in their work, that their excellence may bring glory to Your name.
Lord, we ask that You would soften the heart of their manager and grant favor in this meeting. Let the outcome be one that aligns with Your will, whether it be promotion, encouragement, or even correction—whatever will draw our brother/sister closer to You. Remind them that their worth is not found in their job or the approval of man, but in Christ alone.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or manipulation that may try to take hold. Instead, we declare peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let them walk in confidence, not in their own strength, but in the power of Your might.
Finally, Father, we pray that if our brother/sister does not yet know You, that You would reveal Yourself to them in a mighty way. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. May this season of their life be one where they seek You above all else.
We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
