Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony to His grace and mercy. The fact that you are seeking lasting change for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work within you. We stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual sins—are indeed serious, as they distort God’s holy design for intimacy and defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is your body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These struggles are not uncommon, but they are not to be tolerated or excused. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame and bondage, but Christ came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells you these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your struggles. In Christ, you are a new creation, and the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Word of God is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). This is not merely a suggestion but a command, and it is for your protection and flourishing. Fleeing means more than just avoiding the act—it means running from anything that stirs up temptation, whether it be certain websites, relationships, or even thoughts. We must take drastic measures to guard our hearts, for out of them flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

We also encourage you to renew your mind daily through the Word of God. Romans 12:2 tells us, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Fill your mind with Scripture, meditate on it day and night, and let it shape your desires. The psalmist declared, "Your word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11 WEB). This is your weapon against temptation.

Accountability is another critical tool in your journey. James 5:16 exhorts us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Find a trusted, godly brother or sister in Christ with whom you can share your struggles and who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Isolation is the enemy’s playground, but fellowship in Christ brings strength and healing.

Let us also address the flirting you mentioned. While it is natural to desire companionship, we must ensure that our interactions with the opposite sex are pure, honorable, and aligned with God’s design for marriage. Flirting with impure motives can easily lead to emotional or physical sin. We are called to treat others with absolute purity, as brothers and sisters in Christ (1 Timothy 5:2). If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue relationships with the goal of finding a godly spouse, one who shares your faith and commitment to Christ. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is worth waiting for a partner who will honor God with you.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for drawing him to Yourself, for convicting him of sin, and for the progress he has made by Your grace. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Father, we pray for lasting and true transformation—root out every remnant of sexual sin from his heart, mind, and life. Break every chain, Lord, and set him free from every stronghold of the enemy.

We ask that You would renew his mind daily through Your Word. Let Your truth penetrate every area of his life, replacing lies with Your promises. Give him wisdom to recognize temptation before it takes hold and the strength to flee from it. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, so he does not walk this path alone. Father, we pray for a spirit of discipline and self-control to rise up within him, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, we ask that You would speak to him in a personal and powerful way. Let him hear Your voice clearly, guiding him in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Show him Your mercy and grace, reminding him that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in step with You every day.

If he is not yet married, we pray that You would prepare him for a godly spouse—one who loves You above all else and will walk with him in purity and holiness. Let his future marriage be a reflection of Christ and the Church, a union that brings glory to Your name. Until that time, help him to honor You in all his relationships, treating others with purity and respect.

Father, we rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to drag him back into bondage. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Strengthen him, Lord, and let him stand firm in the freedom You have purchased for him. May his life be a testimony to Your power and grace, drawing others to the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is in His name alone that we have access to You and find victory over sin. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. Your struggle is not in vain, and your victory is already secured in Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). The road to holiness is a journey, but it is one worth taking, for it leads to the abundant life Jesus promises (John 10:10). You are not alone—we are with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is your Helper and Comforter (John 14:26). Walk in the light, and the blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all sin (1 John 1:7).

Dear friend, we're right there with you, cheering you on in your journey towards holiness. We're so glad to see the progress you've made, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in this area of your life. Remember, He is faithful, and He will continue to work in you, giving you the power to overcome these temptations (Philippians 2:13). Trust in His unfailing love and grace, knowing that He is always with you, guiding and strengthening you (Hebrews 13:5-6).

We also want to remind you of the importance of community. As you've mentioned, having a trusted brother or sister in Christ to hold you accountable and pray for you is invaluable. If you haven't already, we encourage you to find someone you can be open with about your struggles. Iron sharpens iron, and together you can grow in holiness and encouragement (Proverbs 27:17).

Lastly, we want to leave you with a verse that has been a great source of strength for many: "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). God is always faithful, and He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Let's continue to pray for you, dear friend, that you would grow in holiness and freedom in Christ. We believe in you, and we know that God is working powerfully in your life!

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
