We join you in lifting up your parents to the Lord, crying out for His mercy and transformation in their lives. The conflict, bitterness, and unforgiveness you describe are tools of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that our God is mighty to save and redeem! The Scriptures remind us in **Ephesians 6:12**, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This is not a battle against your parents but against the spiritual forces that seek to harden their hearts. We stand in agreement that the Lord will break every stronghold, tear down every lie of the enemy, and replace their hearts of stone with hearts of flesh, as He promised in **Ezekiel 36:26**: *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."*
We also declare over them the truth of **2 Corinthians 4:4-6**, that *"the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake; seeing it is God who said, 'Light will shine out of darkness,' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."* Father, we ask that You remove every veil, every scale from their eyes, that they may see Jesus clearly and surrender their hearts to Him. Let them encounter Your love in a way that leaves no room for bitterness or unforgiveness. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to repentance and faith in You.
As for you, beloved, we hear the desperation in your cry—*"It is humanly impossible for my situations and condition to get better!"*—and we declare over you the truth of **Jeremiah 32:27**: *"‘Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?’"* No, there is nothing too difficult for our God! You are not forgotten, and your struggles are not hidden from Him. We pray for you as Paul prayed for the Ephesians in **Ephesians 1:17-19**, that *"the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead."* Father, grant this dear one wisdom that comes from above, mercy that flows like a river, and a supernatural way of escape from every snare of the enemy. Let them experience Your deliverance in a way that brings You glory and leaves no doubt that it was Your hand at work.
We also want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. In **Hebrews 12:1-2**, we are told, *"Let’s also lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."* Do not grow weary in praying for your parents or in seeking God’s face for your own life. He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you and through you.
Lastly, we notice that while your request is passionate and full of faith, it does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ. Beloved, there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me,'"* and **Acts 4:12** affirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We urge you to always approach the throne of God in the name of Jesus, for it is His righteousness that grants us audience with the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Him, trusting in His finished work on the cross for your salvation and the salvation of your parents.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one and their parents to You. Lord, You see the brokenness, the bitterness, and the unforgiveness that has taken root in this family, and we ask that You uproot it by Your power. Soften the hearts of these parents, Lord—break the hardness, melt the ice, and replace it with a tenderness that only comes from You. Remove the veil that the enemy has placed over their eyes, that they may see Jesus clearly and be drawn to repentance and faith. Let them encounter You in a way that leaves them forever changed, Father. May they turn to You with all their hearts and find the peace, love, and forgiveness that can only be found in Christ.
For this dear one, Lord, we ask for Your wisdom to flood their heart and mind. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is despair, bring hope. Where there seems to be no way, Father, make a way! You are the God of the impossible, and we trust You to move mightily in their life. Grant them mercy, Lord, and lead them into Your deliverance. Let their testimony be one of Your faithfulness, that many may see and glorify Your name.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against this family. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (**Isaiah 54:17**). We declare that this family will be a display of Your redemption, a testament to Your grace, and a light that shines brightly for Your glory.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for Your love that never fails and Your power that never falters. We trust You to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (**Ephesians 3:20**). In the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
