We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting your cry to our Heavenly Father, who sees every tear and knows every pain you endure. The nightmares and torment you describe grieve our hearts, for we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you may have life abundantly. You have done well to call upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through His mighty name that we have authority over the powers of darkness.
The fact that you are staying sober is a testament to your strength in Christ, and we commend you for this obedience. Sobriety is a shield against the schemes of the enemy, and we encourage you to continue walking in this discipline, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). However, we must also address the need for spiritual protection. While angels are indeed ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), our trust must ultimately rest in the Lord Himself, not in the angels. It is Christ who disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them (Colossians 2:15). Therefore, we do not pray *to* angels or rely on them as our source of deliverance, but we ask the Lord to send His heavenly host to minister to you as He sees fit.
The "big mean one" you mention—whether a spiritual force or a person—must be confronted with the truth of God’s Word. If this is a spiritual attack, we remind you that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). If this involves a person who has harmed you, we urge you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, involve authorities who can provide protection and justice. The Lord is a God of justice, and He calls us to expose deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5:11), not out of a spirit of vengeance, but for the sake of righteousness and your own safety.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking for Your mighty hand of protection to cover them completely. Lord, You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). We ask that You rebuke every demonic force assigned against them, rendering their schemes powerless in the name of Jesus. If there are people involved in this torment, Lord, expose their deeds and bring them to repentance or justice as You see fit. Surround our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guard their mind and heart in Christ Jesus.
Father, we thank You that they have remained sober, and we ask for continued strength to walk in purity and holiness. Clothe them with Your armor—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). Let them stand firm against every attack, knowing that the battle belongs to You.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let them rest in the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4). We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, particularly Psalm 91, which is a powerful declaration of God’s protection. Speak the Word of God aloud over your life, and let faith arise in your heart. You are not alone in this battle—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will bring you through this victorious. If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. You are loved, and your life is precious in His sight.
