Heaven Is Real

HEAVEN IS REAL
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Do you know for certain that if you were to die tonight, you would be going to Heaven? If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life, my prayer is that today you confess your sins, surrendering your heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ. How many of your loved ones do not know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives? Will you start praying with us for the salvations of your loved ones? Easter is April 20 in 2014. We need to start praying and fasting that they will go to church with you one of the many different services at Easter time.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:8-9

Tuesday evening Tim and I went to see an advance screening of the movie, Heaven is for Real, which is coming out in theaters at Easter time. I read the book, but I really enjoyed watching the movie. I would definitely recommend everyone to see it, but especially for loved ones who do not know the Lord. Max Lucado and Randy Frazee also have made a small group video Bible study for churches, home groups or Bible studies to explain much more in depth about Heaven as written in the Bible.

Are you burdened about your family not knowing the Lord? Then start fasting more than one meal each week for the salvations of loved ones for Easter. There is power in fasting as I said last week. What if one of your family members died suddenly, would they go to Heaven? We who know the Lord have a large responsibility to pray for all unsaved spouses, extended family members, neighbors and co-workers' salvations.

The most important reason that you should be standing and praying for your spouse is for your husband’s or wife’s salvation to receive eternal life. The world can sugar-coat the word “adultery†by calling it an affair or being unfaithful, but it is sin. Just because millions of people do not read or study the Bible, does not mean that God's laws and truths are not real and that there are not consequences to people who do not believe in God. Each of us must believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our salvation and confess with our mouth, “Jesus is Lord†and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead to be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

We, as part of God's church, need to pray regularly for our church to purify ourselves from our own sins, cleansing us from all our unrighteousness, and then pray for a revival for America and around the world to know that there is only one true God.

I praise the Lord every week, as I read email and letters of men and women who did not know their Lord Jesus Christ, but due to the crisis of separation or divorce, they cried out to God and then accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord of their life. These same men and women are now some of the strongest prayer warriors. Some were prodigals who now have become standers because they know the power of their Lord and what He has done in their own lives. They want the same assurance of eternal life for their beloved husband or wife and families.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household.†Acts 16:31

You and I hear about death every day, but none of us are prepared when it comes knocking at our own door. It can happen without notice, as in a car accident or a heart attack or after a lingering illness. Just this past weekend our family knew of an older couple where both of our families attended the same church for many years who had a bad car accident and the wife was killed. This has been a shock to their family and friends, but it happens every day around the world. Are you ready to meet the Lord? What a blessing when you know your loved one knew the Lord as we did when Bob died. My dad died from cancer four days after he had accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in his life. What a day of celebration that was for me as I had prayed for years for his salvation.

May I share a powerful parable that Jesus told his disciples that is in Luke 16:19-31:

“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them’ ’No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’†Luke 16:19-31

Wow! A powerful Word and warning from our Lord Jesus. There is a Heaven and a Hell. May we never stop sharing Jesus and praying for all prodigals, lost loved ones and friends who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives.

Let us start praying this weekend that thousands of prodigals will come to know Jesus Christ as Savior of their lives. Then we must continue to pray that the new believer will be obedient to the Lord's voice, confessing their sins, repenting and having a heart transformation. Then the Lord will send them home to their waiting husband or wife and family. What a glorious day that will be!

Believe in the Lord's power,
