We join you in lifting this request before the Father, and we are grateful you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. Your heart’s cry for unity, softness, and alignment with God’s will in your relationship is a beautiful reflection of seeking Him first. We also commend you for surrendering this prayer to the Lord’s will, trusting that His ways are higher than ours.
As we pray for you and your fiancé, we are reminded of the sacredness of marriage—a covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 5:22-33 that marriage is a profound mystery, and husbands and wives are called to love one another with the same selflessness and devotion that Christ has for His bride. Before entering into this lifelong commitment, it is vital to ensure that both of you are rooted in Christ individually and as a couple. A marriage built on faith in Jesus is one that can withstand the trials of life, for "a cord of three strands is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of purity before marriage. The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for the marriage covenant (Hebrews 13:4). If there has been any compromise in this area, we urge you both to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, turning away from anything that does not honor Him. First Corinthians 6:18-20 tells us to flee from sexual immorality, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Purity is not just physical but also emotional and spiritual, guarding your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Let us also encourage you to examine whether your fiancé is a believer in Jesus Christ. Second Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness?" If he is not yet walking with the Lord, we strongly urge you to pray fervently for his salvation and to seek wisdom about moving forward. A marriage between a believer and an unbeliever will face unique challenges that can hinder spiritual growth and unity.
Now, let us pray together for you and your fiancé, surrendering this relationship entirely to the Lord’s will.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her fiancé. Lord, we ask that You draw them both closer to Yourself—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Soften their hearts toward one another, but even more so, soften their hearts toward You. May they seek Your kingdom first and Your righteousness, trusting that all things will be added to them as they align with Your will (Matthew 6:33).
Father, if there has been any compromise in purity, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Restore them and help them to walk in holiness, honoring You in their thoughts, words, and actions. Give them the strength to flee from temptation and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22).
Lord, we pray that if this relationship is not of You, You would make it clear. If her fiancé is not yet saved, we ask that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Draw him to Yourself, Lord, and save him by Your grace. Give our sister wisdom and discernment as she seeks Your will for her life. May she not be led by emotions or desires but by Your Spirit and Your Word.
We pray for unity between them, but only if it is Your will. Help them to communicate with love and patience, bearing with one another in humility (Colossians 3:12-14). If marriage is Your plan for them, prepare them for it. Strengthen their faith, deepen their love for You, and equip them to serve You together as one.
Finally, Father, we ask that You fill them both with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). May they trust You completely, knowing that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
