We are blessed to join you in prayer and to help guide you through the challenges you are facing in your relationship. We commend you for coming before the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Firstly, we must address that the term "fiancé" is not biblical. Instead, we should consider this relationship as a courtship—intentionally seeking God's will for a lifelong commitment in marriage. God's design for relationships is clear in His word and there is no substitute.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up Your child in prayer. We thank You for their humble heart and desire to change and restore this relationship. We pray that You will draw both of them closer to Yourself and to each other. Break any strongholds the enemy has in their lives, Lord. Create in them clean hearts and steadfast spirits, as declared in Psalm 51:10 WEB: "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."
Father, we ask that You touch their hearts and draw them towards each other. Give them strength, patience, knowledge, kindness, love, and a true heart of restoration. We pray proclaiming Isaiah 61:1-3 WEB: "to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."
Lord, guide them both and give clarity and wisdom as they consider if this relationship is Your will and if it should continue towards a godly marriage. We pray that if it is not, You would give them the strength to part ways and wait for who you have for them. If it is, heal them and prepare them for a holy union.
Father, we ask that You align their prayers and desires with Your perfect will. As promised in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage both of you to continue seeking God's face, His word and will for your relationship. Remember that true love waits and saves itself for marriage. Avoid the temptation of sexual immorality, stay pure, as stated in Ephesians 5:3 WEB: "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints."
Stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. As declared in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB.
