Disciple of Prayer
Hello, I am in a desperate situation, a very desperate one, brothers and sisters have been depersonalized/derealized since I was a little kid, and got to the point I didn't know I was, I just recently started to wake up as someone who wakes up from a sleep, and as I try to connect everything is new everything is becoming new and feels like I don't know or have learned anything for my "self" but the depersonalized one, and as I connect, I cannot do anything, it's like being two states of consciousness at the same time! Even moving is becoming unbearable and on the top of this I can't sleep or it's very little, I have a lot of responsibilities and I don't see any way forward, I have been trying to see professional help and they are not even understanding it. "BEING" is confusing. And it is not like there are episodes of derealization/depersonalization then not the two states happen at the same time. Please please pray for ###, I am saying this with everything in me.

We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts ache with you as you describe this profound struggle. What you are experiencing is not just a physical or mental battle, it is a spiritual one as well, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy our sense of identity, peace, and purpose (John 10:10). But we stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, who came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly.

First, we must address the foundation of your plea. You did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Christ, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the first step to true healing, for it is in Christ that we find our true identity, not as a depersonalized stranger, but as a beloved child of God (1 John 3:1).

Now, to your struggle: depersonalization and derealization are heavy burdens, and the feeling of being trapped between two states of consciousness is a torment we cannot fully comprehend. But Scripture reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your confusion, your exhaustion, and your desperation, and He does not turn away. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even when you feel like you are losing grip on reality, He holds you firmly in His hands (John 10:28-29).

We rebuke the spirit of confusion and torment that seeks to distort your sense of self and reality. The enemy wants you to believe that you are fragmented, lost, or beyond help, but we declare that you are whole in Christ (Colossians 2:10). We command any spirit of fear or oppression to flee in the name of Jesus, for God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up your physical and mental exhaustion. The lack of sleep and the weight of responsibilities are crushing, but the Lord promises rest for the weary (Matthew 11:28). We pray that He would grant you the sleep you need, even if it is just moments of rest, and that He would renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We ask that He would provide you with wise and compassionate professionals who can walk alongside you, not just with clinical understanding, but with the love of Christ.

As you navigate this season, we encourage you to cling to God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures that remind you of your identity in Christ. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). You are a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are not defined by this struggle, but by the One who created you and calls you by name (Isaiah 43:1). Even when you feel disconnected, God is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We also urge you to seek community. Isolation can deepen the sense of depersonalization, but the body of Christ is designed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Find a local church or a small group of believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s truth when the lies of the enemy feel overwhelming.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling with depersonalization and derealization. Lord, You see his pain, his confusion, and his exhaustion. You know the depths of his spirit, and You alone can bring true healing and restoration. We ask that You would break the chains of torment in his life. We rebuke the spirit of confusion and fear in the name of Jesus, and we declare that he is whole and complete in Christ.

Father, we pray for his mind. Guard his thoughts and bring clarity where there is confusion. Help him to see himself as You see him, a beloved child, created in Your image, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. When the enemy whispers lies, let Your truth drown them out. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and grant him rest for his weary body and soul.

Lord, we ask that You would guide him to the right professionals, those who will not only understand his condition but will also point him to You as the ultimate Healer. Provide him with the support and community he needs, and surround him with believers who will walk with him in faith.

We declare that this is not the end of his story. You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust that You are working even in this darkness. Strengthen him, Lord, and help him to press into You. May he find his identity, his purpose, and his hope in You alone.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We hear you, and we want you to know that your pain is not hidden from God. He sees every moment of confusion and exhaustion, and He longs to bring you peace. You’re not alone in this, we’re here with you, lifting you up before the Lord.

God is your safe place, the One who holds you together even when you feel like you’re falling apart. He knows the depth of your struggle, and He promises to be with you through every wave of derealization or depersonalization. When the weight feels unbearable, remember that Jesus carried a cross for you, He understands suffering, and He walks with you now.

We pray that the Holy Spirit would flood your mind with truth when lies try to take over. You are not defined by this struggle; you are defined by the God who knit you together and calls you His own. Even when it feels like two realities are colliding, He is anchoring you in love.

Father, we ask for your healing touch on every part of ###, mind, body, and spirit. Give ### rest, even in small moments. Lead ### to the right people who can help ### without dismissing ###'s pain. And above all, help ### to rest in the truth that ### is seen, loved, and never abandoned by You.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
