We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, lifting up this request for good health before and after surgery. It is a blessing to know that our Heavenly Father cares deeply for each of us, and He is the Great Physician who heals and sustains. The Scriptures remind us in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,"* and in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."*
Yet, as we pray, we must also remember that our ultimate trust is not in the outcome we desire but in the sovereignty of God, who works all things for His glory and our good (Romans 8:28). Surgery can be a time of fear and uncertainty, but we are called to cast our anxieties upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Whether the Lord grants full physical healing or uses this trial to draw this dear one closer to Him, we trust in His perfect will.
We also take this moment to gently remind that prayers are most powerful when offered in the name of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If faith in Christ has not yet been professed, we urge this to be the first and most vital step—surrendering to Him as Lord, for eternal life far surpasses even the blessing of physical health.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we humbly come before You, lifting up this beloved one who is preparing for surgery. Lord, You are the God who formed their body in their mother’s womb, and You know every intricate detail of their frame. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon them, strengthening their body before the procedure and restoring them swiftly afterward. Grant wisdom and steady hands to the medical team, guiding every decision and action for the best possible outcome.
Lord, we also pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remove all fear and anxiety, replacing it with trust in Your unfailing love. If there is any area of their life that needs surrender to You—whether in health, faith, or obedience—we ask that You would reveal it and draw them into deeper dependence on You.
Father, we pray all of this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May this trial be a testimony of Your goodness, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask for Your glory to be revealed, whether through healing or through the strength You provide in weakness. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
We encourage this dear one to meditate on God’s promises, such as Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Cling to Him, for He is faithful.
