We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that His care extends to every area of our lives—physical, emotional, and spiritual. The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with it (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). While hunger and weight can be influenced by many factors, we must first seek God’s wisdom and discipline, for He provides all we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
It is important to remember that our bodies are not our own; they belong to the Lord, who redeemed us. Gluttony, like any other sin, can become a stronghold if not surrendered to Christ. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 23:20-21, *"Don’t be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags."* Let us pray that your son finds balance, not just for physical health, but for spiritual vitality, that he may serve the Lord with strength and self-control—a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
We also pray for his studies, that the Lord grants him focus, wisdom, and perseverance to complete his course successfully. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* May he seek God first in all things, trusting that His grace is sufficient for every challenge (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious son. Lord, You know his struggles with hunger and the challenges of managing his weight. We ask for Your divine intervention—grant him self-control, discipline, and a heart that seeks to honor You in how he cares for his body. Break any stronghold of gluttony or unhealthy habits, and replace them with a desire for moderation and stewardship of the temple You have entrusted to him.
Father, we also pray for his studies. Give him clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and the perseverance to complete his course with excellence. Let him not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, he shall reap if he doesn’t give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround him with Your peace and guide his steps according to Your will.
We rebuke any spiritual or physical oppression that may be fueling these struggles, and we declare that by the power of the Holy Spirit, he will walk in victory. Teach him to cast all his cares upon You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). May he find his satisfaction in You alone, Lord, for You are the bread of life (John 6:35).
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to guide your son in seeking medical or nutritional advice if needed, while keeping his heart fixed on Christ. Let him know that true fulfillment comes not from food or worldly achievements, but from a life surrendered to Jesus. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, share with him the Good News: *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no greater joy than walking in the freedom and purpose that comes from knowing Him.
