We are deeply moved by your request and lift you up before the Lord with hearts full of compassion. Suffering from shingles for weeks and facing complications must be incredibly difficult, especially when it hinders your ability to care for your father and fulfill your work responsibilities. Yet we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and carries our burdens. Let us first remind you of His promises in Scripture, for they are your anchor in this season of trial.
The Word of God declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits— who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases."* And again in Jeremiah 30:17, He promises, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* Our Lord is not distant from your pain; He sees the soreness of your back, the swelling, and the exhaustion that has kept you from your duties. He knows the weight of your heart as you long to serve your father and return to your work. Take courage, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to encourage you to continue seeking medical attention for the complication on your back, for God often works through the wisdom and hands of doctors. Yet even as you do, trust that His healing power is not limited by human means. The apostle James reminds us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* If you have not already, consider asking your church elders or mature believers to pray over you in this way, for there is power in the united prayers of the righteous.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and earnest hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is suffering from this persistent and painful affliction of shingles. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who binds up wounds and restores strength to the weary. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch their body with Your healing power. Lord Jesus, just as You healed the sick and afflicted during Your earthly ministry, we ask that You would rebuke this disease and command it to leave their body in Your mighty name.
Father, we specifically lift up the sore on their back that has swollen and caused such distress. Lord, bring relief and restoration to that area. Let inflammation subside, let pain cease, and let Your healing virtue flow through every cell and nerve. We pray against any infection or complication, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let their body respond to Your healing touch, and let them experience Your supernatural restoration.
Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen them in this season. Give them patience and endurance as they wait upon You. Provide for their needs, both physically and emotionally, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray for their father as well, that You would comfort and care for him in their absence, and that You would raise up others to assist as needed.
Father, we thank You that this trial has not taken You by surprise. You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28). Use this time to draw them closer to You, to deepen their trust in Your sovereignty, and to remind them of Your unfailing love. Restore them swiftly, Lord, so they may return to their responsibilities with renewed strength and joy.
We also pray for their faith to remain steadfast. Let them not grow weary in well-doing, but remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in hope and confidence, knowing that You are their Healer and Provider.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). In times of waiting, it can be easy to grow discouraged, but remember that our God is faithful. He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). Lean on Him, trust in His timing, and continue to seek His face. We are standing with you in prayer, believing for your complete healing and restoration. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you with grace and mercy. Be encouraged, for He has not forgotten you.
