Health, Memories and Other Issues

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I’m ###. Hope no rain Friday morning. Help stop spread of Ebola and Hantavirus. My dad ### is sick, hope no travel far places. My mum ### has mental health and memory issues; both worse; the mental health issues worse for months but memory issues more recent, like going to a store and returning home with one of something and forgot she put one back and getting mad about it, also things like passwords, some apps, etc. Her temper and wanting more jobs despite having too many doesn’t help. Hope my friend ### returns to Facebook so I can contact her; been too long; hope someone teaches her how to use what she has to access the internet. I am not any better at contacting (I am worse), doesn’t help my home phone and cell phones have issues, and other issues; but still need to do better, so does ### and her helpers. ### has a disability, so do I, but hers is way worse.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these burdens to our Heavenly Father, who sees every need and hears every cry. First, we acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Christ, our prayers are in vain, and our hope is lost. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Only then can you truly experience the peace and power of God in your circumstances.

We pray now for the global health crises you’ve mentioned—the spread of Ebola and Hantavirus. Lord, we ask You to halt the advance of these diseases in Your mighty power. You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). Raise up wise and discerning medical professionals, grant them knowledge and resources, and protect communities from further harm. We declare that no plague shall come near Your people’s dwellings (Psalm 91:10) and that You are our refuge and fortress in times of trouble.

For your father, we lift him up before You, asking for Your healing touch. Whether his illness is great or small, You are able to restore him. We pray for strength, comfort, and peace for him and for you as you care for him. Remind him—and all of us—that even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, You are with us, and Your rod and staff comfort us (Psalm 23:4). If it is Your will for him to remain close to home, we ask that You make a way for his needs to be met without undue hardship.

Your mother’s struggles with mental health and memory weigh heavily on our hearts. Father, we know that You do not forget Your children, and we ask that You strengthen her mind and calm her spirit. Her confusion and frustration are real, and we pray for patience—for her, for you, and for those who assist her. The Bible tells us that a gentle answer turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1), so we ask that You fill her home with peace and understanding. Help her caregivers to respond with kindness, even in difficult moments, and grant them wisdom in managing her care. We also ask that You provide clarity in her responsibilities—help her to release what she cannot carry and to focus on what truly matters. Remind her that her worth is found in You, not in the number of tasks she accomplishes (Matthew 11:28-30).

For your friend who has been absent from communication, we pray that You would open doors for reconnection. Whether through technology or a simple visit, we ask that You remove any barriers keeping her from staying in touch. Lord, You are the God who restores what is broken (Joel 2:25), and we trust that You can mend this distance. We also lift up your own struggles with communication, asking that You would help you overcome the obstacles—whether they are technical, emotional, or physical. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7), so we declare that you *will* do better, not in your own strength, but in Christ’s.

For your friend with a disability—and for you, as you also face challenges—we pray for grace upon grace. The world may see limitations, but God, You see possibility. You tell us that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), so we ask that You would be glorified in these struggles. Provide the support, resources, and strength needed to navigate each day. Remind both of you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that Your plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Finally, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety, confusion, or division that may be at work in these situations. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that these circumstances will not overwhelm you, but that God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Heavenly Father, we entrust all these needs to You, knowing that You are faithful. Strengthen this family, bring healing where it is needed, restore what has been lost, and draw each one closer to You. May Your name be praised in every outcome, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. Let's lift up these heavy burdens together and lay them at the feet of Jesus. We're praying for your dad's health, that he would find strength and healing, and that any travel he needs to do would be safe and uncomplicated. We're also praying for your mom, that her mental health and memory issues would improve, and that she would find peace and understanding in her daily life. We're asking God to give her caregivers patience, wisdom, and kindness in caring for her. And we're praying for your friend, that she would return to communication and that any barriers between you two would be removed. We're also asking God to help you overcome any obstacles in your own communication, and to give you the power, love, and self-control to do better. For your friend with a disability, and for you too, we're praying for grace upon grace, that God would be glorified in your struggles, and that you would find strength and support for each day. Lastly, we're rebuking any spirits of anxiety, confusion, or division, and declaring that God's peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We trust that God is faithful and will work all things together for good. Let's keep lifting these needs up to Him together, in Jesus' name.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over the past several days. It has been our heart to lift up your many concerns before the Lord, trusting Him to move in each situation according to His perfect will.

We have prayed for your health and protection, asking God to shield you and others from the spread of illness like Ebola and Hantavirus. We’ve also interceded for your father, asking the Lord to bring healing, comfort, and strength to him, and wisdom for those caring for him. For your mother, we’ve prayed that God would ease her mental and emotional struggles, restore her memory, and grant her peace in the midst of frustration. We’ve asked Him to soften her heart, calm her spirit, and help her find rest in His presence.

We’ve also lifted up your friend, asking the Lord to reconnect you with her and to provide someone who can help her access the tools she needs to stay in touch. And for you, we’ve prayed for grace to navigate the challenges with your phones and communication, that God would open doors for you to connect with others more easily and that He would strengthen you in the areas where you feel limited.

If any of these prayers have been answered—if there’s healing, restoration, or breakthrough—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If some of these burdens still weigh heavily on your heart, please share them again as a new request. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God hears and answers in His perfect timing.

May the Lord bless you with His peace, comfort, and provision as you seek Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
