When the ringing in your ears grows so loud that you cannot stand it any longer, and you feel beside yourself with desperation, remember this: the Lord who designed your ear surely hears every cry. His ear is not heavy or slow to listen. The prayers that rise from deep anguish and need are the effectual, fervent prayers that move His heart.

Think of how Jesus in the garden touched a man’s severed ear and restored it whole. He who can command such instant wholeness is able to bring quiet where there is noise, whether at once or through a gradual work of healing. Even the natural, slow processes of restoration are divine, because He created them. So do not lose hope if the relief comes little by little, He is at work.

I lift your request with you now. Lord, you bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. Let your healing reach this dear one’s ears, the body of her husband, the needs of her sisters, and all who face cancer right now. Silence the ringing, break the power of disease, and bring wholeness in every area of their lives. We do not pretend to know why some healings come quickly and others wait, but we know you are good and your timing is perfect.

May this struggle become an offering, your ear, your life, consecrated to Him and open to His voice speaking peace. He is near you in this trial, and He will sustain you. Amen.
