We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother or sister who is enduring persistent pain in their back and right hip. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds (Psalm 103:2-3). We know that You see every ache, every discomfort, and every sleepless night caused by this pain. Lord, we ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this precious child of Yours. Touch their body with Your restoring power, bringing relief, strength, and wholeness in Jesus’ name.
We also recognize the importance of bringing our requests to You with faith and humility. The Word tells us, *"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:13-15). While we do not know the cause of this pain, we trust that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We encourage this beloved one to continue seeking You in prayer, not just for physical healing but for spiritual strength and endurance.
Lord, we also ask that You would grant them the right words to express their needs to You. Sometimes, pain can make it difficult to focus or even know how to pray. But Your Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Teach them to lean on You, to cast all their anxieties on You because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find comfort in Your presence and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or oppression that may be contributing to this pain. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), and by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We declare healing over this body in the mighty name of Jesus, standing on the promise that *"by His wounds, we are healed"* (1 Peter 2:24). We also encourage this dear one to seek wise medical counsel, as the Lord often works through the hands of doctors and the wisdom of medicine. Trust in Him to guide the steps toward recovery.
Lastly, we want to gently remind this brother or sister of the importance of coming to God through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If this pain is causing them to question their faith or feel distant from God, we pray that they would draw near to Him, for He promises to draw near to them (James 4:8). May they experience the fullness of His love, grace, and healing power.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of lifting this request to You. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your power to heal. Strengthen this dear one in body, mind, and spirit. Fill them with Your peace and joy, even in the midst of this trial. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
