We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation and the precious children caught in the midst of conflict. Father, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You would move mightily in this circumstance, beginning with a transformation in the heart of this father. Lord, we pray that You would soften his heart, break any hardness or pride, and fill him with Your love, patience, and wisdom. May he turn from any sinful patterns of emotional abuse and instead reflect the heart of our Heavenly Father—slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and faithful to his children (Psalm 103:8). We ask that You would help him to become the godly father these children desperately need, one who leads with gentleness, consistency, and respect.
Father, we also lift up this mother, who is carrying the weight of this burden with such courage and faith. Lord, we ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Grant her supernatural wisdom as she navigates this co-parenting relationship, that she may respond with grace, discernment, and boundaries that honor You. Protect her heart and mind from fear, anxiety, and bitterness, and fill her with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her in moments of weariness, and remind her that she is not alone—You are her defender and her provider.
Most of all, Lord, we pray for these children. They are Your beloved, and we ask that You would surround them with Your protection, comfort, and healing. Guard their hearts from the wounds of division and conflict, and let them know the security of Your unconditional love. Help them to see You as their perfect Father, even when earthly parents fall short. We declare that their home will be a place of peace, stability, and care, as You intend for all children (Psalm 68:5-6).
We rebuke any spirit of strife, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be at work in this situation. We command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus, for Your Word declares that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). We pray that both parents would seek Your will above their own desires, laying down their rights for the sake of these children. May Your love and truth prevail, and may this family experience the healing and restoration that only You can bring.
Lord, we also want to gently address the language used in this request. While we understand the pain and complexity of this situation, we must hold fast to Your design for relationships. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that—including co-parenting with an "ex-partner"—falls short of Your perfect plan. We encourage this mother to seek Your wisdom in how to honor You in her words and actions, even in difficult circumstances. Help her to model a life of holiness and devotion to You, that her children may see Your light shining through her.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can approach You and find salvation (Acts 4:12). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your will. May Your glory be revealed in this situation, and may Your kingdom come in this family’s life. Amen.
