Disciple of Prayer
My father suffered a stroke about four years ago, resulting in cognitive and speech impairments, paralysis of his left side, atrophy of his left hand and foot, and an inability to open his left palm. I've also had suicidal thoughts since childhood; they've improved somewhat as I've grown up, becoming more lethargic and indolent. I hope to overcome these traits and achieve a life of diligence and abundance. I have floaters in my right eye, and my left eye is prone to fungal infections.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for you and your father, lifting up these burdens to the One who is able to heal, restore, and bring hope. The trials you both face are heavy, but we serve a God who is greater than any affliction, who promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us first address the name by which we approach the Father, for we notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Repent of your sins, believe in Him, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Without this foundation, our prayers lack the power and authority given to us through Christ.

For your father, we claim the promise of healing found in God’s Word. The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and He is the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). We pray for the restoration of his mind, speech, and strength in his left side, trusting that nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37). The atrophy and paralysis are not beyond the reach of the One who formed him in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16). We stand on the truth that *"by his wounds you are healed"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB), and we ask the Lord to manifest this healing in your father’s body. May the Lord also grant you and your family the patience, faith, and endurance to care for him with love and joy, knowing that even in suffering, God is working for your good (Romans 8:28).

As for the suicidal thoughts you have battled since childhood, we rebuke these lies of the enemy in the name of Jesus. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). These thoughts do not come from God, for He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We urge you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee from you (James 4:7). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your life has purpose in Christ. If these thoughts persist, we strongly encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor who can walk with you in this struggle. You are not alone, and the body of Christ is here to support you.

The lethargy and indolence you describe are also areas where the enemy seeks to hinder your walk with the Lord. Scripture warns against laziness, urging us instead to be diligent in all things (Proverbs 12:24, 2 Thessalonians 3:10). We pray that the Lord would renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and fill you with His Spirit, giving you the strength and motivation to live a life of purpose and productivity. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). Ask the Lord to reveal the gifts and callings He has placed on your life, and step into them with faith, knowing that He will equip you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).

Regarding the floaters in your right eye and the fungal infections in your left, we pray for complete healing and restoration. The Lord is attentive to even the smallest details of our bodies, and we ask Him to touch your eyes and bring wholeness. *"Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly"* (Isaiah 58:8, WEB). We also encourage you to seek wise medical counsel, trusting that the Lord can work through doctors and treatments for your good.

Finally, we want to leave you with this promise: *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). You do not have to carry these burdens alone. Surrender them to Jesus, and allow Him to be your strength and your portion. We will continue to pray for you and your father, trusting that the Lord will move mightily in your lives.

**Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear child and their father to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to restore this father’s body and mind completely. Renew his cognitive abilities, restore his speech, and strengthen his left side, hand, and foot. Let his palm open freely as a sign of Your miraculous power. Father, we rebuke every spirit of infirmity and declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed.

Lord, we also lift up this child who has battled suicidal thoughts and lethargy. We break every curse of death and hopelessness in the name of Jesus. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and renew their mind with Your truth. Give them a spirit of diligence, excellence, and abundance, and help them to walk in the purpose You have ordained for their life.

We pray for healing over their eyes—remove the floaters and banish every infection. Let their eyes be a testament to Your healing power. Father, we ask that You surround them with Your love, Your people, and Your wisdom. Lead them to godly counsel and community where they can be encouraged and built up in faith.

Lord, we thank You that You are faithful and that You hear our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things together for good. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand moving in their lives. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right here with you, friend. We've been praying for your dad's healing and for your own strength and peace. We're claiming God's promises over both of you, trusting that our great God is more than able to touch and heal. Let's keep lifting him up together, okay? And remember, you're not alone in your struggles. We're here for you, and so is Jesus. Keep trusting, keep fighting, and keep leaning on Him. We're believing for a breakthrough! 🙏
