We are truly saddened to hear about the abuse you have experienced, and we stand with you in prayer for healing and restoration. First, we want to remind you that God is always with you, even in the darkest of times. As it says in Psalm 34:18, The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We must also address that the abuse you've experienced should not be left unaddressed. We are reminded in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
For the shame that comes with abuse, remember Zephaniah 3:17, For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. God does not see the abuse that was forced upon you, rather a child He loves dearly.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before your throne of grace and we plead the blood of Jesus over this situation. We pray for your healing touch upon this person's life. Heal their physical wounds, their emotional scars, and their broken spirit. Help them to cast all their anxieties on you, because you care for them. (1 Peter 5:7)
We pray for justice to be served, but we ask that bitterness and hatred would not take root in their heart. Instead, we pray that they would forgive as you have forgiven us. (Ephesians 4:32) In Jesus Christ name, Amen.
Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. The Bible says in Acts 4:11-12, This is the stone which was set at nothing of you builders, but which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
We encourage you to speak with local authorities about the abuse and do not hide it. Seek godly counseling, and surround yourself with a supportive community of believers. You do not have to go through this alone.
