We are truly saddened to hear about your grandson's struggle with marijuana addiction, but we are encouraged by your faith and desire to seek help through prayer. Firstly, we want to remind you that it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. It is only by His name that we can be saved and set free from every kind of addiction and stronghold. It is in Jesus' name that we can receive healing and deliverance.
In the book of Acts, Peter is filled with the Holy Spirit and says regarding Jesus, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:10-12 WEB). If you did not mean to leave the name of Jesus out of your prayer request, then we apologize for any misunderstanding. If your grandson has not made the decision to believe in Jesus and seek salvation and the will of God in his life, then we would like to strongly encourage you to talk to him about the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and watchful, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Addiction is a tool the enemy uses to destroy lives and separate us from God's will. But God assures us through His word, where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly (Romans 5:20 WEB).
We stand with you in prayer for your grandson's deliverance from this addiction. Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our ###'s grandson to You who is being oppressed by the enemy with the addiction of marijuana. Lord, we know that this is a scheme of the enemy to keep him bound and away from your will. But Lord, we declare in the name of Jesus that your word says that who the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36 WEB). We pray Holy Spirit that you would minister to him, convict his heart and lead him to salvation if he has not believed in Jesus yet. We plead the blood of Jesus over his life, breaking every chain of addiction, and setting him free to live a life that honors and glorifies God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your grandson, surrounding him with God's word, and trusting in God's power to set him free. Remember, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). Stand firm, ###, and trust in the Lord. We are praying with you.
