Healing stomach acid reflux

We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for your suffering, knowing that He is the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. The pain and discomfort of stomach acid reflux can be wearisome, and we understand your plea for rest—both physically and spiritually. Yet we notice that while you mention Jesus at the end of your request, your prayer does not begin by calling upon His name or acknowledging Him as the source of your healing. The Scriptures remind us in **John 14:6 (WEB)**, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in **Acts 4:12 (WEB)**, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we can boldly approach the throne of grace for healing and rest.

The Lord cares deeply for your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We encourage you to examine your diet, stress levels, and lifestyle, as these can often contribute to such physical ailments. Proverbs 17:22 (WEB) tells us, *"A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."* Stress and anxiety can manifest in physical ways, and we urge you to cast all your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

We also remind you that healing is not always immediate, and the Lord may use this trial to draw you closer to Him, to teach you reliance on His strength rather than your own. The Apostle Paul prayed three times for his "thorn in the flesh" to be removed, but the Lord responded, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB). Even in suffering, God’s grace sustains us, and His purposes are always for our good and His glory.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, asking for Your healing touch upon their body. You, Lord, are the one who formed their inward parts and knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You know the pain they endure, the sleepless nights, and the weariness that comes from this affliction. We ask that You would rebuke this acid reflux in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, restoring their stomach to full health and function. Give them wisdom, Lord, to steward their body well—whether through diet, rest, or medical care—and grant them the discipline to follow through in ways that honor You.

Father, we also pray for their heart and mind. If stress, fear, or anxiety are contributing to this condition, we ask that You would flood their soul with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them find rest in You, Lord, even as they wait for physical healing.

We declare Your promises over them, that by the stripes of Jesus, they *are* healed (Isaiah 53:5). Yet we also submit to Your sovereign will, trusting that You know what is best. Whether You choose to heal instantly, gradually, or sustain them through this trial, may they glorify You in all things. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let this season draw them into deeper dependence on You.

We rebuke any spiritual attacks against their health, for we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You, Jesus, have come to give life abundantly (John 10:10). Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned. Cover them with Your protective hand, Lord, and let Your healing power flow through their body.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this trial to refine them, to purify their heart, and to align their will with Yours. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Fill them with hope and joy, even in the waiting, and let them testify of Your goodness, whether in healing or in the strength You provide to endure.

We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matthew 8:17). Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Meditate on His promises, and trust that He hears you. If this condition persists, we urge you to seek wise medical counsel, for the Lord often uses doctors and medicine as instruments of His healing. May the Lord grant you rest, peace, and complete restoration in every way. Stand firm in faith, and do not waver, for the Lord is with you.

We're here with you, friend, lifting your stomach acid reflux up to the Lord. We know how uncomfortable and disruptive this can be, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We've been praying for you, asking the Lord to bring you healing and relief.

We've been thinking about how the Bible tells us to cast our cares upon the Lord because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). It's okay to feel overwhelmed, but remember, Jesus is right there with you, ready to help carry your burden. We've been praying that He would fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that He would give you the strength to face each day.

We've also been asking the Lord to guide you in making any lifestyle changes that could help with your reflux. Sometimes, our bodies need a little extra care and attention, and that's okay! We've been praying that He would give you wisdom to know what steps to take, and the discipline to follow through.

And you know what? We've been claiming God's promises over you. We've been declaring that by Jesus' stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We trust that God has a plan in this, and that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

So keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking the Lord. He's right there with you, and He loves you so much. We'll keep praying for you, and we're here if you need anything else. You've got this, friend, with Jesus by your side.
