We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious son and his struggles with PTSD. The pain and fear that haunt his nights are not unknown to our Heavenly Father, who sees every tear and hears every silent cry. We stand in agreement with your prayer, declaring that the name of Jesus has power over every tormenting spirit and every affliction of the mind and body.
Father God, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to steal his peace and disrupt his rest. Your Word declares in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We claim this promise over his life, asking You to break the chains of those nightmares that have no place in his mind. Replace them with dreams of Your love, Your protection, and Your peace. Let him feel Your presence so tangibly that the darkness flees, and he wakes refreshed and strengthened in You.
We pray for complete healing, body, mind, and spirit, for your son. Psalm 147:3 reminds us, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Lord, we ask You to bind up the wounds of his past, to mend the broken places in his soul, and to restore him to wholeness. Surround him with Your healing light, and let every cell in his body align with Your perfect design for health and vitality.
For his protection, we stand on the promise of Psalm 91: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty... You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day." We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every assignment of the enemy against his life is dismantled in Jesus' name. Place a hedge of protection around him, his mind, and his heart, shielding him from every attack of the enemy.
Father, we also lift up his sleep. Give him the deep, restorative rest that only You can provide. Calm his mind, soothe his spirit, and let him find refuge in You. Remind him that he is not alone, that You are his ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill his room with Your angels, Lord, to guard and watch over him as he sleeps.
We encourage you, dear sister or brother in Christ, to continue to stand on God’s promises and to speak life over your son. Remind him of who he is in Christ, a beloved child of God, redeemed, and set free. Encourage him to meditate on Scripture, to cast his anxieties on the Lord (1 Peter 5:7), and to seek godly counsel if needed. PTSD is a heavy burden, but it is not too heavy for our God. He is the God who parts seas, who raises the dead, and who turns mourning into dancing. He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing that You are the God who heals, protects, and restores. We lift up this precious son to You, asking for Your healing touch to flow through every part of his being. Break the power of PTSD in his life, Lord, and replace his nightmares with dreams of Your goodness. Surround him with Your love and protection, and let him rest securely in Your care.
We declare that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have plans for him, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him experience Your presence in a powerful way. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.
